As we all know, with the deepening of human exploration of the earth, there are not many so-called "isolated" indigenous tribes in the world, and now these remaining "primitive people" have no more than two attitudes towards modern civilization: respectful and distant, or simply hostile.
Why isn't there a friendliness?
Because the friendly ones have either long been colonized or "corroded" by modern civilization.......
印度洋,北桑提内尔岛(North Sentinel Island)的桑提内尔人(Sentinelese),就属于敌视的一支。
(Santinelles)
North Santinell Island is not far from the Indian mainland, so when the British colonized, they knew that there was such an indigenous tribe, and at that time, the Santinells were very fierce to outsiders and attacked outsiders whenever they came to the island.
In 1880, a British Royal Navy officer had taken a few Santinells to India, but they had no modern antibodies, and as soon as they arrived at the port, they began to fall ill, and soon two of them died.....
Fortunately, this did not cause the extinction of the Santinelles, but more information is not known.
Probably because there were no natural resources on North Santinell Island, the British did not care about this group of natives after that, and after World War II, India became independent, and also continued the attitude of the British, and in the 50s, the island was designated as a tribal reserve, and no one was allowed to enter the 5-kilometer radius of the island.
Since then, there has been little communication with the Santinelles, or rather, only modern people who want to communicate unilaterally, and only arrows and spears answer them.
In 2006, two Indian fishermen went out to sea to catch crabs when their anchors unexpectedly failed and drifted to North Santinell Island. Later, a group of Santinelles rushed out, killed the two innocent fishermen with axes, and hung their bodies on bamboo poles, facing the sea, as if to demonstrate.
Soon after, the Indian government sent the coast guard to collect the bodies, only to see the group of Santinelles come back and try to attack the helicopter with bows and arrows and spears. The language barrier is clear: outsiders must die.

It is precisely because of this that the people of Santinell are notorious, and in addition, Indian law does not allow tourists to approach, so only some people with clear ideas are still willing to contact them.
In 2018, for example, an American missionary, John Allen Chau (ABC of Chinese descent), tried to spread Christianity on North Santinell Island, which he felt could be "Satan's last bastion on earth."
Zhou went to the island three times, the first two times when he was threatened by the armed forces of the Santinelles, and the second time he was holding a Bible in his chest, and a native shot it through it with a bow and arrow, nearly killing him.
Even with this threat, Zhou insisted on going to the island for the third time, paying fishermen to send him to the island, and soon the fishermen saw the Santinelles dragging his body across the beach and finding a random place to bury it.
Later, the Indian authorities also tried to collect Zhou's body, but under the fierce resistance of the Santinelles, even the grave was not found. To this day, Zhou is still buried in his homeland, on this small island in the Indian Ocean.

This incident was quite famous at the time, and almost all the media in Europe and the United States reported it in detail.
This certainly dispels the curiosity of many people, but there are also some people who are rebellious, and the more dangerous they are, the more they want to break through.
On April 2, police arrested a 24-year-old American tourist, Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, outside North Santinell — who came close to being in contact with a Santinell.
According to the police, Polyakov's visit to the island was carefully planned, and it is likely that he studied the situation at sea, the tides, and the entrance and exit to the island.
At one o'clock on Saturday morning, he took a coconut and a can of Diet Coke and set off in a rubber boat.
Nine hours later, at about 10 a.m., Polyakov arrived on the northeastern coast of the island.
(Polyakov's rubber boat, which has now been confiscated by the police)
He wasn't stupid, and when he got ashore, he first took his binoculars and scanned the area carefully to prevent someone from killing him as soon as he landed on the island.......
He didn't dare to stay long, he only stayed on the island for 5 minutes, left Diet Coke and coconut as "gifts", grabbed a handful of sand as a souvenir, and quickly ran away.
Outside the island of North Santinell, he wandered around in a dinghy for another hour, whistling frantically in the hope of attracting the attention of the natives, but no one paid any attention to him......
That night, he returned to the civilized area, where local fishermen spotted him and called the police.
Later, the police found a lot of video evidence on his GoPro and arrested him without saying a word.

After this careful investigation, the police found that it was not the first time that Polyakov had tried to go to North Santinell Island.
Back in October last year, he tried to get to the island in an inflatable kayak, only to be stopped by hotel staff.
In January of this year, Polyakov tried again, but in the end only reached the nearby island of Barata.
This third time, he installed a small motor on the rubber boat and installed GPS, ready to finally "realize his dream", and we all know about the rest of the matter.
As for the motive, he confessed to the police after his arrest: "I'm a thrill seeker. ”
Some media picked up his Youtube and found that this person is really a veritable "Thrill Seeker".
About six months ago, he spent three weeks in Afghanistan, during which he took photos with the Taliban, played with bazookas and heavy machine guns, and explored abandoned military bases......
(Polyakov的油管)
To "explore" the indigenous tribes is also in line with Polyakov's character.
However, his adventure clearly came at the cost of the lives of the people of Santinell.
According to experts, the people of Santinell have too little contact with the outside world to compare with the immune system that modern people have been trained so much. There are only about 100~300 of them, and a single flu or measles virus can wipe them all out.
Even more dangerous, in turn, if there is some unknown virus on the people of Santinell, which is taken to the whole world by Polyakov, it will be even worse......
From this point of view, it is not unreasonable for the Santinelles to be hostile to all outsiders......
Fortunately, Polyakov didn't really see the Santinelles.
According to locals, the Santinelles live on the other side of the island, and Polyakov went in the wrong direction.
Today, Polyakov has been accused of illegally breaking into the exclusion zone, and it is not yet known how he will be sentenced.
I hope that the next days in prison will make him sober up......
