#A number of Japanese hotels sued Booking hotel booking platform#According to Japanese media reports, on October 20, the operators of 11 accommodation facilities in Japan, including hotels and ryokans, jointly took one of the world's major hotel booking platforms, its head office in the Netherlands, and its Japanese branch. The plaintiff alleges that Booking, which began defaulting in arrears in July this year, demanded compensation of about 36 million yen, or about 1.74 million yuan, for accommodation facilities located in eight first-class administrative districts, including Tokyo. According to Japanese media reports, due to the arrears of accounts of Binke, some hotels and hostels in Japan have difficulties in capital turnover and even face the risk of bankruptcy. There are already operators who are unable to pay their employees because they cannot get their accounts, and even have to sell their real estate to raise funds. Lawyers representing the plaintiffs said that in addition to the operators of the 11 lodging facilities that have participated in the class action lawsuit, they have received inquiries from about 50 lodging facility operators, which may have amounted to billions of yen. According to reports, there are about 36,000 accommodation facilities in Japan that can be booked through Booking, and some hotels even 90% of the customers are from Booking, so the actual scope may be even larger. Previously, some hotels had asked Bookingc Japan to pay as soon as possible, but it had not been properly resolved. Bookingx said that it was due to the payment system update caused payment delays. Japan's Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said it had twice urged the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism side to settle the arrears
