October 4 is World Animal Day, how did it come about?
Born in 1182 to a wealthy merchant family in Assisi, Italy, Francis founded the Francis Monastery in 1206 by abandoning all material possessions. He has lived in the forests of Assisi for a long time, loves animals and has developed a "brother and sister" relationship with them. He asked the villagers to "thank the humans who give love to the animals" on October 4.
In 1931, many ecologists met in Florence, Italy, to formally propose World Animal Day. They chose the day of celebration of St. Francis, October 4, and since the 2020s, various forms of commemoration have been held around the world every year on this day. #少儿美术教育#
