Do you think the AI concept is hype in market sentiment or will it drive real change in technology? A recent interview with Goldman Sachs gave investors some answers. Cash Regan, chief software and internet analyst at Goldman Sachs, believes AI is truly transformative and doesn't enter the hype cycle. Because the bubble brought by the hype is generally two:

One is business valuation, such as eye-catching clicks.

The second is a rise in valuations driven by market news or sheer excitement and far from the P/E ratio. This bubble usually appears when the company's products are not formed or sales are not large. But if the technology has a molded product that can provide real service, that's not hype. AI is one of them, and existing AI technology can already increase the productivity of many programmers by 15 to 20 percent.

Joseph Briggs, senior global economist at Goldman Sachs, macro estimates the role of AI in the next decade. He believes that AI already has a potentially huge impact on productivity and economic growth. Widespread global adoption of Al technology could increase labor productivity by 1.5 percentage points over 10 years, and could eventually increase global GDP by about 7%.

However, for the current status of AI technology, Goldman Sachs believes that it is still in the "infrastructure" stage. At this stage, a small number of large technology companies that develop basic models for AI have a first-mover advantage, which is more beneficial to semiconductor companies related to computing power and hyperscale companies in the cloud computing field.

Goldman Sachs specifically cautioned that the market only took just over 5 months from realizing the value of discovering Al. And the history of technological change shows that 5 months is not enough time for the market to understand the full future impact of new technologies. In the next decade, application-layer innovation in the field of artificial intelligence may attract more capital attention.
