Ercole Spada designed the all-new body for the Lamborghini 3500 GTZ, and Zagato in Milan designed the chassis, a particular model with chassis number 0310 that made its debut at the 1965 London Motor Show.
Later, the car was modified for left-hand drive in Australia. In 1999, the car was sold to the Netherlands and restored to its original configuration, although the interior was modified to leather upholstery.
The car was painted red for many years and later returned to its original appearance. In 2008, it was bought by a new owner and unveiled at the Pebble Beach Elegance Contest.
It is said that there was also a second 3500 GTZ with chassis number 0322, which was later damaged beyond repair and destroyed, as for the authenticity, it is not known.
