Attract tourists to the area for consumption tours

In order to continue to promote the community economy and attract more visitors to the district, following the 20-week "North District Weekend Consumption Awards" campaign launched by the Macao SAR Government and industrial and commercial organisations in March this year, MGTO and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSTB) have also launched different themed check-in devices in phases in the North District, in conjunction with the consumption promotion activities held at the same time, to enhance the vitality and attractiveness of the North District and give full play to the synergistic effect of boosting the community economy.

In order to better integrate information related to the community tourism economy and facilitate residents' and visitors' access, the DSEDI and MGTO have launched the "Community Tourism and Economic Fun" webpage (https://www.macaocomecon.com/), which brings together Macao's community tourism and community economy activities and projects, including the "Flower Hub North" page, the "Weekend North District Consumption Awards" activity page, the "Taste of Community Food" video collection and the "Specialty Store Project" There are four tabs on the event page, and the website will be updated continuously.

In order to enhance the overall attractiveness of the community and cater to the preference of consumers who are keen to check in in recent years, the DSEDB will launch the "Flower Gathering North District" activity in phases at different locations in the North District of Macao starting from the second quarter of this year, carefully designing eight sets of large-scale flower-themed check-in devices to complement different tour routes, attracting residents and visitors to explore the traditional community and driving consumption in the district.

Before the "May Day Golden Week", two groups were first launched

The "Flower Gathering North District" campaign will be launched in phases at different locations in the North District. In conjunction with the May Day Golden Week tourism season, the first phase of two large-scale check-in devices has been launched since 26 April: the "Lost in Oz" installation at Ilha Verde Square Lotus Square adjacent to Qingmao Port, which is full of spring-like flowers to create a colorful flower maze for the public to visit and explore, and the "Wish Flower Gallery" installation in the Oriental Pearl Rest Area, creating a flower corridor with the theme of dreamy wisteria vines, allowing residents and tourists to stroll leisurely, check in and have fun.

The remaining six sets of large-scale check-in devices will be distributed in various locations such as Chopsticks, Ya Hon and Areia Preta, and will be completed by the end of May, when more fun games such as interactive check-ins and lucky draws will be launched.

In conjunction with the event, a shopping and eating check-in map was launched

And combined with influencer publicity

To tie in with the launch of the event, the DSEDT and the regional chambers of commerce have designed the "Shopping and Check-in Map of the Northern District of Macao", launching two special tour routes close to the Border Gate and Qingmao Port, connecting the food and attractions in the district.

Launched in March, MGTO launched the "Coldplay Macao" project, which will feature IP devices with different themes in different communities of Macao in phases this year, providing a variety of "tourism+" experiences and helping to boost the tourism economy in the community.

Showcase local cultural creativity

The first part of the project will be launched in three phases in the Northern District, with the first part of the "Pigskin" IP installation being launched in collaboration with renowned artist and toy collector Wu Cheuk Hei in the Oriental Coastal Leisure Area, and the launch of the local cultural and creative "Fun in Macao" installation at the Oriental Pearl Leisure Area starting from 26 April, with the continuous use of innovative "check-in spots" to inject vitality and playfulness into the North District, with the aim of driving people to travel and consume in the community.

From 26 April to 28 September, MGTO and local company A-Ma Cultural & Creative Technology Co., Ltd. have jointly created the "Tide in Macao" installation, which will place eight sets of creative "portals" at the Oriental Pearl Leisure Area, featuring Macao's trendy figure - Macanese teenager João in different forms, leading residents and visitors to explore the "Eight New Scenic Spots of Macao" through "portals": Portuguese Style in front of the Pavilion (Senado Square), Love Lane (Love Lane), Fulong New Look (Fulong New Street), Twin Lakes Tower Shadow (Two Lakes and One Tower), Xishan Wangyang (Guia Hill), Qiaoling Sandi (Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge), Coloane Fishing Village (Coloane Fishing Village) and Longclaw Guantao (Longzhuo Kok).

Join hands to attract customers to the district

MGTO has specially arranged "Meet You MAK MAK" interactive flash mob or dance performances at different IP device locations every weekend and holiday to enrich the fun of the program. At the end of April, MGTO collaborated with Meituan to launch the "Macao Encounters" campaign, which was combined with the "Weekend Weekend Spending Awards in the North District" and the installation set up at the same venue by the DSEDC, to further exert a synergistic effect and strengthen Macao's attractiveness as a cool and fun tourist destination.

In the third part of the "Coldplay Macao" project in the North District, there will be iconic check-in spots at six locations in the North District from May to September, and a large-scale art installation of Macao's tourism mascot "MAK MAK" and an international animation character IP installation in the Central District and Islands District from July to November, details of which will be announced in due course.

In the future, the HKSAR Government's inter-departmental and regional organisations will continue to work together to take multiple measures to boost the community economy, connect the district's characteristic businesses and tourism resources, and help attract visitors to the district.
