Just in the past week, it can be said that Huawei's highlight moment, and there has been a whirlwind of Huawei in the field of artificial intelligence.
Hardware aspect:
Gao Wen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of Pengcheng Laboratory, revealed in his speech at the Ascend Artificial Intelligence Industry Summit Forum of the 2023 World Artificial Intelligence Conference that the Pengcheng Cloud Brain II, based on Huawei Kunpeng CPU and Ascend NPU, has been made by this machine since October 2020, and has participated in the IO500 (World Top 500 Supercomputing Ranking) ranking in November, ranking first six times in a row, playing once every six months, and ranking first for the second consecutive time in all nodes. The planned Pengcheng Cloud Brain III is about to begin.
Ken Hu, Huawei's rotating chairman, revealed at the opening ceremony of the 2023 World Artificial Intelligence Conference that Huawei's "Kunpeng + Ascend" has helped local governments build 25 city-level AI computing centers, helping leading enterprises build their own AI computing power centers, and about half of the domestic large models are enabled by Ascend AI.
Software:
Ken Hu said at the opening ceremony of the AI conference that HUAWEI CLOUD Pangu models have penetrated into more than 10 industries such as finance, manufacturing, government affairs, electric power, coal mining, healthcare, and railways, supporting the implementation of AI applications in more than 400 service scenarios.
On July 7, at the HUAWEI CLOUD Developer Conference, HUAWEI CLOUD CEO Zhang Pingan officially released HUAWEI CLOUD Pangu Model 3.0.
Regarding Huawei's Pangu model, Zhang Pingan also announced several points:
1. Huawei's Pangu model is not for individuals, does not do toC, only toB;
2. Huawei Pangu model does not do chat, does not write poetry, only does things;
3. Huawei's Pangu model does not refer to chatGPT from beginning to end and is not on the same track;
4. As early as chatGPT, when chatGPT was not yet popular, Huawei Pangu large model was released, and now it has been iterated to version 3.0;
5. When no one knows chatGPT, Huawei's Pangu large model assisted design and verification of the domestic large aircraft C919 has flown into the blue sky, Pangu large model has been assisted in weather forecasting (now the results have been published to Nature), auxiliary drug research and screening, assisted smart mine mining, and so on.
Cooperation aspect:
At the 2023 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Huawei gained a lot, and many well-known enterprises/universities signed cooperation agreements with Huawei.
1. iFLYTEK announced that it will cooperate with Huawei, and iFLYTEK Spark and Ascend AI will jointly build a computing power base.
2. Shanghai Data Group and Huawei signed a cooperation agreement to carry out in-depth cooperation with Huawei in the integration and application of advanced technologies such as blockchain, privacy computing, and AI large models.
3. Bank of Communications and Huawei Joint Innovation Lab was inaugurated. The joint innovation lab will carry out innovative cooperation on HUAWEI CLOUD Pangu big model and basic computing power and other root technologies, explore the application of artificial intelligence big model in all financial scenarios such as intelligent marketing, intelligent operation, intelligent risk control, and smart office, and work together to serve the high-quality development of the economy and society and open a new era of inclusive finance.
4. The AI storage base for the large model era jointly developed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Huawei was released.
I hope that in the future, Kunpeng + Ascend will be more powerful, and the application of Pangu large model will be more extensive and deeper!
