The Analects don't cut | Zi Zhang and Zi Xia's way of making friends

Zi Zhang and Zi Xia were all classmates, after The death of Confucius, Zi Zhang was teaching, Zi Xia was also teaching, and later the Xunzi school was all flowed out of the Zi Xia school. Zi Zhang and Zi Xia both had students, and one day there was such a thing:

Zi Xia's doorman, asked to hand over to Zi Zhang.

Zi Zhang Yue: Zi Xia Yun He?

Right: Zi Xia Yue: What can be with it, and what cannot be rejected.

Zi Zhang Yue: Contrary to what I have heard, a gentleman respects the wise and tolerates the public, and a good person cannot be respected. What is the intolerable nature of My GreatNess? If I am not virtuous, will people reject me, and if they reject others?

Zi Xia's students, when they met Uncle Shi (Zi Zhang Shao Zi Xia was four years old), asked Shi Shi what was the way to make friends, and Zi Zhang asked in turn, how did your teacher tell you? Zixia's students said that our teacher taught us that for the friends we can make, we should make friends with him, and the friends we can't make are farther away. Zi Zhang said, that's right, I heard our teacher Confucius teach us, and it's not the same as what your teacher taught you (Zi Zhang is also quite good at speaking, he doesn't say that your teacher is wrong). What I have heard from our teachers is that a person who makes friends in society should be respected, and those who are learned and moral should be respected, and those who are generally immoral and unlearned should be tolerated, and those who are good and have good deeds should be encouraged, and those who are bad and poor should sympathize with him. Suppose I am a morally cultivated, learned person, and I am a gentleman, so which one can not be tolerated? If I'm an asshole myself, then I don't have to reject people, people hate me first, so why should I reject others?

This passage is very honestly recorded, that is, Zi Zhang and Zi Xia were both students of Confucius. An education, an idea, changes greatly in the third generation. Just like the Idea of the Three People's Principles, it is difficult to take the exam now. This is to say that the play of a scholar, in the second generation, the third generation, the scope is expanded, the direction is different, this is the first point of view. The second point of view, just see Zi Zhang's opinion, than Zi Xia's view is a little wiser, the truth of being a person should be so, for people who are not up to us, do not have to hate him, to sympathize with him, to help him, even if you can not help, you must tolerate people, forgive others a little, if you are right, of course, to help others, you are not right, you are exempt from talking, so Zi Zhang's view is smarter than Zi Xia.
