Desert is the main geological feature here, but unlike the pure sea of sand of the Sahara, you can also see many low mountains that have been weathered for millions of years, and the gaps in the mountains are also the source of spring water. Maybe in a million years, these mountains will eventually be obliterated by yellow sand.
Until the sixties of the twentieth century, Wadi Lum was just an obscure small place, and later the Hollywood movie "Lawrence of Arabia" was filmed here, and then won the Ostofilm Award that year, and Wadi Lum also became famous, and the fans alone arranged more than half of the business here. Later, several popular works were filmed here, such as the "Indiana Jones" series, "The Martian", etc., and the popularity of Moon Canyon was further enhanced, and it was often difficult to find a book in the peak season.
Tours usually in Wadi Lum can be divided into three ways, hiking, camel rides and buggy rides. It only takes a day or two to visit all the sights by buggy, and five or six days if you hike (which is also my choice).
There are three or four sights hiked every day, including mountain springs, cliff carvings, echo walls, rocks weathered into different shapes, and deserts of three colors. Yu Qiuyu wrote in "Cultural Hardship Journey" that there will be ten scenes and eight scenes in each county record, and what are the names of "Bright Moon in the Far Village" and "Xiaosi Qingbell", but it is just a deserted village, a broken temple, an old well, and the scenery in the desert is actually similar. And those so-called attractions are just daily rest stops, more often than not, just walking in the desert, sometimes not even hearing the wind, as quiet as the post-apocalyptic world. At sunset, it is even quieter, and every inch of the desert, rocks, and sky in front of you is reflected in red.
