author:Overseas post-it notes

After nearly three years of Covid-related restrictions, Hungarian authorities welcomed the first Chinese tourists to arrive at Budapest Airport. The Hungarian Tourism Board and Budapest Airport welcomed 22 tourists who arrived in the country after easing Covid restrictions, which have been in place for months to stop further spread of the virus. The Hungarian government has been trying to promote tourism by attracting Chinese citizens and promoting Hungary through promotional campaigns in China.

A previous report provided by CGNT showed that Hungary, as well as all Balkan countries, are eager to welcome Chinese tourists back, thus contributing to the recovery of the country's tourism industry from the devastating situation caused by the coronavirus. Viktor Vereb from HISEAS International Travel Group said the impact of Chinese tourists on the global tourism industry was huge before the pandemic, noting that Chinese made a total of 170 million international trips.
