At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, SAIC-GM Cadillac IQ Aoge was officially launched, with a total of two configuration models and an official guide price of 239,700-269,700 yuan. The car is built on the Autonen platform and is positioned as a pure electric mid-size SUV, offering two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models, and competitors include Tesla Model Y, Xpeng G6, Wenjie M5 pure electric version and other models.
In terms of appearance, the new car has obvious family characteristics, with the iconic shield-shaped black crystal grille at the front, and semi-wraparound decorative lights around it, which reinforces the identity attributes. The headlight group is quite three-dimensional, with a bifurcated light group outline, which integrates teardrop high and low beams and longitudinal daytime running light strips, supplemented by wind blade shapes and banner-style texture embellishments, which appear to be full of science and technology. The front envelope area is covered with a large area of black glossy trim, with sensor probes integrated on both sides of the license plate frame, and a small trapezoidal lower grille and sharp front scoop at the bottom to effectively enhance the vehicle's sense of hierarchy.
The sides of the body are three-dimensional and slender, the roofline is slightly sunken, the thick D-pillar has personalized stripes, and the roof and pillars are blackened to form an exaggerated two-tone body, which looks very visually impactful. The bottom of the vehicle has a rugged body surround, with black wheel arches and large wheels, showing the unique toughness of an American SUV.
The rear part of the car adopts a split tail light cluster, showing the family heritage, and the end of the tail box reflects a black rear wing, which echoes the roof spoiler, which is conducive to enhancing the sense of hierarchy and sportiness of the vehicle. The rear bumper is a large black rear surround, interspersed with silver trim and red reflective strips as embellishments, which are unified with the overall style. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the car are 4822/1912/1643mm, and the wheelbase is 2954mm.
The interior part is equipped with a suspended conjoined curved dual screen, the center console is slightly deflected to the main driver, the three-spoke multi-function steering wheel is a family-style shape, and the electronic pocket shift will naturally not be absent, and the island is disconnected from the center console to form a suspended layout, which provides knob buttons and open double cup holders, and the perimeter is covered with wood grain trim to further enhance the interior texture.
In terms of power, the IQ standard range version is driven by a single motor, with a maximum power of 180kW and a maximum torque of 330Nm, matched with a 68.4kWh ternary lithium battery pack and a range of 536km in CLTC mode, while the four-wheel drive long-range version is driven by dual motors, with a comprehensive system power of 211kW, a comprehensive torque of 465N·m, and a 0-100 acceleration of 5.97s, matched with a 79.7kWh ternary lithium battery, with a range of 600km in CLTC mode.
Compared with the Model Y, the IQ is larger and cheaper, and there is a cost-effective advantage in the luxury brand camp. It remains to be seen how it will perform in the future.
