Changan Mazda officially released a new energy sedan - EZ-6 during the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, which is based on Changan EPA hybrid platform, providing pure electric and extended range dual power options, and both use rear-wheel drive systems, to some extent, it can be regarded as a response to the long-awaited "rear-wheel drive Ma 6" by horse fans.
In terms of appearance, the new car is still very Mazda's characteristics at first glance, the front face part of the family characteristics are obvious, the star-like closed grille, the middle inlaid with the illuminated Mazda logo, the lower part has a semi-wrapped wraparound light strip, leading to the split headlight groups on the left and right sides, which looks quite designed. The front bumper features a small trapezoidal lower grille and license plate frame, while longitudinal air intakes are added on both sides to enhance the sporty character. It should be noted that the front grille of the range extender version is not a closed shape, but a traditional air intake that provides heat dissipation for the range extender.
The overall line of the side of the body is stretched and smooth, with a low-lying front end, a fastback roof transition, and a significant elevation at the rear, forming a strong sense of swooping. The details are more sophisticated, with a full waistline with a sense of power, concave side skirts with black trim, and chrome strips on the lower window line and vehicle surrounds to contrast with the bodywork. Frameless doors, concealed door handles, two-tone low-drag wheels and other features are not absent, once again enhancing the stylish attributes.
At the rear, the end of the boot reflects a towering and upturned split rear wing, with a continuous tail light cluster that clings to the bottom, and when lit, it has an intricate light source design, and the sides are flanked by semi-circular details that are characteristic of the family. The trunk line is concave and the rear bumper is surrounded by a sloped black surrounding, complemented by chrome strips and diffuser accents, which round off the sporty design. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the car are 4921/1890/1485 mm.
The interior part is still very familiar, equipped with a 14.6-inch floating central control screen, the left side is a dark blue SL03 full LCD instrument panel, the flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel with a back-to-center logo, and a two-color stitching process, which looks quite sporty. The electronic pocket gear shift mechanism follows the mainstream, and the wireless charging panel and longitudinal double cup holders are available in the middle island area, and the suede material can be found everywhere to enhance the sporty atmosphere again.
In terms of configuration, the comfort configuration includes a panoramic sunroof, SONY audio system, 64-color ambient lighting, and zero-gravity seats. The specific information of the powertrain has not yet been revealed, but it is known that it will be available with pure electric and range-extended dual power options, plus Mazda's exclusive tuning, with three driving modes: ECO, Comfort, and Sport, as well as a custom driving mode.
