Auggie is a 10-year-old boy who is no different from other children his age than wearing a giant space helmet. Under the helmet hides Auggie's scarred face due to various surgeries, which not only perfectly hides Auggie's fragile inferiority, but also successfully prevents Auggie's appearance from scaring other children. Auggie did not go to school, and all his cultural knowledge was taught to him at home by his mother, Isabelle. However, Isabelle gradually felt that the home classroom could not meet Auggie's growing needs, and in addition to learning knowledge, Auggie had to learn how to communicate with people other than his family. Worried, Isabelle sends Auggie to a public school, where Auggie faces challenges that he must overcome in his life.
