At present, Hualien Wendan grapefruit is on the market, and Chen Jizhong, chairman of Taiwan's "Agricultural Committee," said today that the purchase of Hualien processed fruits has increased from 400 tons to 1100 tons, which is equivalent to assisting Hualien to dematerialize 1/10 of its output. In addition, actively set up Wendan grapefruit insurance, so that the income of grapefruit farmers has a certain protection; In response to the extreme climate, the low irrigation equipment will be assisted, and each farmer will receive a subsidy of NT$400,000.
Chen Jizhong also said that the problem faced by Wendan grapefruit is not the ban on sales in China (mainland), but the time between the festival bailu and the Mid-Autumn Festival is too close, affecting the sales schedule.
In recent years, Taiwan's trade surplus from the mainland has been more than 100 billion US dollars per year, which allows the DPP authorities to have enough money to subsidize fruit farmers, so in the short term, the mainland ban on sales is not particularly impactful on fruit farmers.
