It is native to Eurasia but has been established in North America. Its clumps of nocturnal-flowering purple-white flowers are mainly pollinated by nocturnal-feeding hawk moths, as the flower tubes are too long for most other insects to reach the nectar. This fruit is a red orange berry. Another climbing plant is the Burmese honeysuckle, yellow flowers and green berries. It has aromatic yellow-white flowers and black berries. Trumpet-shaped honeysuckle has oval leaves, sometimes joined together, and climbs high in the forest. Its orange , scarlet spike-like inflorescence , consisting of 5 cm tubular pentaches and red berries , is common in eastern North America.
