On the morning of May 13, the reporter came to the waters of the west entrance of the green embankment of Xixi Wetland, where a "Wanvesha" variety that was introduced in 2022 and won the world water lily championship was planted.
"Marvesha" is quite famous in the water lily industry, its flowers are bright and changeable, and it has the title of "Queen of Change". It can produce two-color water lilies that are half yellow and half red, and it is said that the probability of this color is not more than 1 in 10,000, so it is rare to see. After a careful search, the reporter did not see it. The staff of Xixi Wetland told reporters that the first two-color water lily found in Xixi Wetland this year bloomed at the end of April, and due to multiple factors such as weather, it had withered a few days ago. However, they have photos of the flowering period in their mobile phones.
In Xixi Wetland, the planting range of water lilies is still relatively extensive, in addition to the two sides of the plank road at the west entrance of the green embankment, near the Meizhu Villa on Meilin Road in the Xixi Wetland, Dongguan Lotus Pond, Zhoujiacun Plank Road and other waters, more than 20 varieties of water lilies are planted.
