Looking north, the microwave of Cuiping Lake is accompanied by the mountain breeze constantly teasing your eyes, bringing infinite comfort.
Every year in late May and early June, when the concrete road leading to the village is bustling with traffic, this once quiet little village suddenly comes alive because there is a mouth-watering fruit, mulberries, ripe! Honghuayu is famous for mulberries, and mulberries are delicious because of the nourishment of Honghuayu's water and soil.
Honghuayu mulberry not only has a long history of cultivation and a sweet taste, but also is a product of China's national geographical indication. But for me, it's more about the feelings of my hometown and the memories of my childhood.
"Get up, get dressed quickly, go up the mountain to earn your pocket-" Every year at four or five o'clock in the morning during the mulberry ripening season, when I was still in a hazy dream, I was woken up by my parents, hurriedly put on my clothes, and went into the mountains with the adults to start beating mulberries.
In the garden contracted by my family, there is an old mulberry tree that is more than 400 years old, and three adults cannot hold its trunk, and the canopy of the tree is like a huge green umbrella stretched out. The lowest branch of the tree is prostrate on the ground, and the highest branch rises into the clouds in the eyes of the child. It's a pity that I can't see him today. This tree is a paradise for us to play, keep climbing up and down, when we are tired, we will lie on the branches, look up at the white clouds in the sky through the gaps in the green leaves, and touch the mulberry branches next to us, and send strings of mulberries into our mouths, which is very beautiful.
Catching mulberries requires tacit cooperation, generally gently knocking the trunk first, and a few mulberry fruits sparsely fall downward. At this time, the person struggling under the tree stared at the direction where the mulberry fruit fell, quickly moved the cloth bag, and caught it accurately. Then the mulberry beater will hit it a second time, and the ripe mulberry fruit will rush to the ground, jump on the ground, rush through the branches and leaves, and fall into the cloth pocket. Then tap it again, hit it hard, and move the cloth pocket accurately and quickly with the sound of the stick above and the landing point of three or five mulberry fruits, and catch all the fallen mulberry fruits. The daily yield of this old mulberry tree is very large, and it takes two or three hours to finish this tree, which is really a "chore" for me when I was a child.
Mulberry trees have tenacious vitality, walking into Honghuayu, you can find that whether it is in the fertile land, or in the terraces of the hills, even in the cracks of the dam platform, in the ravines of the stone lichen, you will see the figure of the mulberry tree. May and June is the season of mulberry harvest, and Honghuayu also opens its arms and welcomes guests from all over the world. Walking into the mountain col, the white clouds and green sea are overflowing with fruity fragrance. Under the dyeing of the sunset, Jiuling Honghuayu reverberates with a crisp beating sound, sometimes light and sometimes heavy, sometimes slow and slow, long or short, near or far, one after another, long and long, the reverberation of clear rhythm and valley echo seems to be playing a grand symphony. Even if there is no delicious teasing, wouldn't it be nice to be immersed in the scene, to see the scene, and to have fun with your ears!
When I arrived at Honghuayu, it was a pity not to taste the mulberries picked by myself. Set aside the layers of green mulberry leaves, the clusters, a full mulberry fruit will be presented in front of your eyes, black such as black jade, rich and dripping, white such as mutton fat, elegant and clean, at this time you will definitely look at it. "The mulberries are sweet like honey, the willow cotton flies away and covers them, and the thick green plays to hide." Gao Xie's praise after eating mulberries, do we feel the same way? Pick a few and put them in your mouth, chew gently, the beads of mulberry roll in your mouth, teasing your taste buds, the fried juice soaks your throat, the soft and sweet feeling makes you want to stop, and you can't help but reach out again...... Those who eat white mulberries will have a sweet taste, a mouth full of fragrant feelings, and sometimes sigh: "It's so sweet, it kills me!" Sometimes surprised: "Oops, my fingers are glued together." "It's a different story when you eat black mulberries – you see, on your hands, on your lips, at the corners of your mouth, on your teeth...... Everywhere it became black and purple. If there are three or two more people who eat more lazily, even their cheeks and clothes are dyed bright purple.
Every mulberry season will pull my mind back to the old years, the water and soil of Honghuayu nourished the mulberries of Honghuayu, which is a gift from nature; The farmers of Honghuayu are attached to mulberries, and the care of mulberries is condensed in the inheritance of their fathers and sons, which is the gratitude of farmers to mulberries. The mountains and rivers of Honghuayu have given birth to the honey fruits of mulberries, and the honey fruits of mulberries have given back to the hard-working hometown people, and the hometown people have guarded the mountains and rivers of Honghuayu for generations.
