On May 13th, Xiaobian saw in the Chinese herbal medicine planting base of Zaozi Yingrunguang in Woniushan Village, Pangu Township, Piyang County, that the endless honeysuckle was in full bloom and the growth was gratifying, with clusters of flowers hanging on the branches, and the full buds were like silver needles swaying in the wind. More than 100 villagers from the surrounding villages carried baskets and buckets through the sea of honeysuckle, skillfully picking the first stubble buds, and the fields presented a busy scene.
"In order to facilitate more villagers to pick honeysuckle, we use flexible employment methods, regardless of age, time, weight and daily work, and the labor cost of centralized picking is 4 yuan per catty to settle the day's wages, so that farmers at home can not only take care of the family, but also get a certain income." Liu Donghui, head of the Runguang Chinese herbal medicine planting base, said.
It is understood that Liu Donghui is a "post-80s" returned to his hometown to start a business in Woniushan Village, who worked in Julu County, Hebei Province, where he came into contact with honeysuckle planting and learned systematic honeysuckle planting technology. In 2018, he returned to his hometown Woniushan Village to start planting honeysuckle, through nearly 6 years of exploration, his honeysuckle planting area of more than 100 acres, each mu can produce about 100 kg of dried flowers, and the output value per mu can reach more than 10,000 yuan.
"Pick flowers in the morning, sell flowers at noon and collect money." This is the most common topic mentioned by nearby villagers. The reason why there is such a consensus is that the village not only actively promotes the planting of honeysuckle, but also builds a honeysuckle drying workshop, and when picking, picking and harvesting flowers are carried out simultaneously. Everyone is highly motivated to pick honeysuckle, and honeysuckle has become a new industry for the people in the village to increase their income.
In the next step, Pangu Township will further expand the planting area of honeysuckle, build a honeysuckle boutique demonstration garden, build a pattern integrating sightseeing, tourism and leisure, and improve the integration and development level of primary, secondary and tertiary industries of honeysuckle, so that the majority of villagers can get more benefits from it and help rural revitalization.
