Australian Trade Farrell hinted in an interview that he has extended an "olive branch" to China and may have a "compromise situation", but the attitude of the two people directly affects whether China-Australia trade can be restored.

Recently, Australian trade Farrell was interviewed by the British "Guardian" and released an important signal of China-Australia trade easing. Farrell said he had extended an "olive branch" to China and would fully support going down that path if there was an opportunity to have different discussions so that the two sides could reach a compromise.

Farrell acknowledged that australia now has "ideological differences" with China, but both countries are interested in trying to get trade relations back to their original level, so during his tenure as trade minister, he will try to re-enter into some kind of reasonable trade arrangement with China.

Farrell is optimistic, he believes that the way the WTO handles the China-Australia trade dispute, and the next meeting between the Chinese and Australian foreign ministers at the G20, will have a great possibility of promoting "positive signs" in China-Australia relations, and there may be a "compromise situation" or "alternative way" to resolve the trade dispute.

However, Farrell expects at least two people to play a key role in the recovery of China-Australia trade, and their attitude will be more tough.

The first is Australian Foreign Minister Huang Yingxian, as an official who will have direct dialogue with the Chinese side on the G20, her attitude towards China is not friendly, since taking office, Huang Yingxian has visited the Solomon Islands, Fiji and other Pacific countries three times, and the Australian media said bluntly in the report that Huang Yingxian's series of activities are to put pressure on the South Pacific island countries, while asking the other side to weigh the consequences of exchanges with China, in order to weaken China's influence in the Pacific.

Moreover, on the issue of the China-Australia trade dispute, Huang Yingxian has taken a tough attitude, and she has made it clear that she will seize every opportunity to ask China to cancel the so-called "improper trade attacks".

Second, Australia's new prime minister, Albanese, is equally reluctant to "compromise."

Speaking about China-Australia relations, Albanese made it clear that Australia's attitude toward China has never changed, what has changed is China, that if it is to improve diplomatic relations, China must lift trade sanctions against Australia, and that Australia will continue to defend its own values in its own government.

Albanese also argued that it was because Morrison's stance toward China was not tough enough that Australia suffered a serious loss, stressing that the "first pillar" of Australia's foreign policy would be an alliance with the United States.

The first thing Albanese did after taking office was to travel non-stop to Japan for the Quadripartite Security Dialogue and to meet biden directly.

Therefore, as long as two important officials, Albanese and Huang Yingxian, are not willing to reflect on themselves and improve China-Australia relations, then the "compromise situation" that Farrell expects is extremely unlikely, and it will be difficult for China-Australia trade to resume. #Australia ##阿尔巴内塞 #
