Australia chose the main battlefield, surrounded by wolves in the Asia-Pacific region, and after eight days of silence, the People's Liberation Army began to play

What is the purpose of Australia's move to choose the main battlefield and point the spearhead at China? After eight days of silence, how did our People's Liberation Army respond?

On the afternoon of the 25th, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Defense of the Mainland, Senior Colonel Wu Qian, spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense, clearly pointed out in response to the national defense strategy report released by Australia a few days ago that the relevant report of the Australian side is to hype up the so-called "China threat" for no reason, and its purpose is only to create a pretext for the development of its own military strength. At the same time, Wu Qian stressed that China firmly opposes any form of zero-sum game and bloc confrontation, and hopes that the Australian side will take a correct view of China's development and strategic intentions, abandon the Cold War mentality, and do more things that are conducive to maintaining regional peace and stability, rather than the opposite. Why did Senior Colonel Wu Qian make such a response? Obviously, Australia's national defense strategy report is once again talking about China and deliberately hyping up the so-called "China threat theory."

Australia chose the main battlefield, surrounded by wolves in the Asia-Pacific region, and after eight days of silence, the People's Liberation Army began to play

It is understood that 8 days ago, that is, on the 17th of this month, Australia announced the country's first national defense strategy, this 80-page document not only made a pessimistic assessment of the security situation in the Pacific region, but also attributed the reason for this "pessimistic assessment" to China, in Australia's view, it is because China to achieve its strategic goals, the so-called "coercive strategy", which has led to the increasing risk of conflict in the Pacific region. To this end, Australia plans to increase defense spending by A$50.3 billion over the next 10 years, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region. It is not difficult to see from Australia's actions that its hype of the so-called "Chinese coercive strategy" is only a façade, and its ultimate goal, as Senior Colonel Wu Qian said, is to create an excuse for the development of its own military strength. In addition, it is not difficult to find from the fact that Australia focuses on the Asia-Pacific region and chooses the Asia-Pacific region as the main battlefield, and Australia has a deeper purpose, that is, to cooperate with the Biden administration of the United States to promote the so-called "Indo-Pacific strategy".

Australia chose the main battlefield, surrounded by wolves in the Asia-Pacific region, and after eight days of silence, the People's Liberation Army began to play

It is undeniable that in recent years, in the context of the Biden administration's efforts to promote the so-called "Indo-Pacific strategy", the current Asia-Pacific region can be said to be "surrounded by wolves", with the Philippines and Australia in the south, Japan and South Korea in the north, and there is quite a posture of "besieging and attacking" China. Under the framework of the "Indo-Pacific Strategy", the United States has set aside the existing political, economic, and security cooperation process in the Asia-Pacific region and weakened the ASEAN-centered regional cooperation architecture, with the aim of changing the status quo of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, undermining the way of neighborly coexistence among Asia-Pacific countries, and trying to cobble together a hegemonic system dominated by the United States. The contents of Australia's national defense strategy report reflect the current situation to a certain extent, that is, under the inducement and demagogy of the United States, some countries in the Asia-Pacific region have seriously misjudged the current geostrategic situation in the Asia-Pacific region. It is precisely on the basis of this miscalculation that Australia has changed its national defense strategy from the defensive type of the past to the outward-looking and interventionist type of today, which is a bad sign.

In addition to Australia, the Philippines has seriously misjudged the situation, and in recent years, the Marcos Marcos government has made every provocation against China over the South China Sea issue. Recently, the United States and the Philippines held this year's "shoulder to shoulder" joint exercise in the South China Sea, and in addition to the United States and the Philippines, the countries participating in the exercise also include the armed forces of Australia and France, and 14 other countries participated as observer countries, including Japan and India. It is not difficult to see that the so-called "Indo-Pacific strategy" of the Biden administration seems to have found a good foothold under the catering of the Marcos administration in the Philippines to "lure the wolf into the house".

In response to the United States' behavior of forming gangs and factions, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clearly stressed that the Asia-Pacific region should be a highland for peaceful development, not a chess game in a geopolitical game. Asia-Pacific cooperation should conform to the common interests of countries in the region, not serve only the hegemonic and selfish interests of one country; the rules and order in the Asia-Pacific region can only be jointly determined by the countries in the region, and not allowed to be unilaterally dictated by certain countries. What is certain is that the current security risks in the Asia-Pacific region are mainly due to the fact that the United States has cobbled together an exclusive "small circle" in the Asia-Pacific region to create bloc confrontation, and it is by no means the so-called "Chinese coercive strategy" as Australia has put it.
