Dongfeng Fengguang 580 is one of the earliest domestic 7-seatER SUVs, with large space and affordable prices, this car quickly occupied the highlands of the market segment after being listed in June 2016, creating brilliant results, and once surpassed highlands in sales.
In 2016-2017, the monthly sales of the Fengguang 580 were basically stable at more than 10,000 vehicles, with the highest monthly sales of nearly 20,000 vehicles, and the cumulative sales of 170,000 vehicles in 2017, far exceeding highlanders and the top sellers in the entire 7-seat SUV market.
But this achievement did not last long, after 2018, the sales of the Scenery 580 fell sharply, with cumulative sales of only 28,000 vehicles in 2021, and only 2,080 and 1169 vehicles sold in the last two months, which is very different from the previous hot situation.
Today's scenery new 580 has made great progress in appearance, so as to keep pace with the times, the 2022 model has a stylish and atmospheric appearance, and the front face adopts a large-size black mesh, and the visual impact is stronger. At the same time, the new 580 no longer uses the old car logo and uses a new "FENGON" alphabet.
The rear part adopts a new through-line tail light set design, and the rear marking and front of the car are unified as the "FENGON" logo. At the same time, the rear bumper of the new car uses a two-color treatment, and the lower part is paintless.
From the side, the Scenery 580 uses a relatively straight roof line and a side waistline, and the D-pillar adds a suspension design to look more sporty and youthful.
With an increased body size of 4720/1865/1710 mm and a wheelbase of 2785 mm, the body has an excellent space performance at the same price.
The 2022 Scenery 580 has been changed to a 6-seat layout. It is worth mentioning that the second row of seats in the car is equipped with electric adjustment function as standard, which is 8-way electric adjustment on the high-end model, and is equipped with "sleeping headrest" and seat heating/ventilation function.

The main reason why the Scenery 580 fell off the sales throne is probably that there are too many competitors and too strong. During the most proud period of sales of the Scenery 580, other low-end mid-size SUVs were still very scarce, and the mainstream 7-seat SUV at that time was dominated by Highlander and Ruijie.
However, with the development of the mid-size SUV market, other brands have gradually followed suit, and more and more models can be selected in the 100,000-level field, which has also seized market share with affordable prices and more innovative designs, and the Scenery 580 has gradually become marginalized.
Secondly, the quality problems of the Wind and Solar 580 also affected sales, and complaints about core components such as engine abnormal sound, transmission failure, oil leakage, shock absorber abnormal sound, soft brakes, and battery power loss appeared in an endless stream, making the reputation of the Wind 580 plummet.
In addition, Dongfeng Fengguang has not achieved a major breakthrough and development in technology research and development in recent years, which cannot provide strong support for this former star model, making the product less competitive, and ultimately leading to the decline in sales of the Dongfeng 580.
