"Ordinary World" integrates into his "life"

There's always something unforgettable, and there's always a book that people can't get tired of reading.

"Books are a good teacher and friend in life, a good book, and a guiding light in life." Recently, in an interview with reporters, 56-year-old Hu Nantang said with deep feelings that reading Lu Yao's "Ordinary World" truly understands the spirit of self-improvement and unremitting struggle, even today, this book still illuminates the life path of many people.

In Hu Nantang's home, office, and car, there are various versions of "Ordinary World", many of which are old versions from 30 years ago. For more than 30 years, Hu Nantang has loved "Ordinary World", loved it foolishly, loved it crazy, and loved the excitement of life.

A "chance encounter", he and "Ordinary World" befriended

Hu Nantang was born in 1966 in Xi County, Xinyang City, and after graduating from university in 1987, he went to work in a factory in Luoyang. Although more than 30 years have passed, he still vividly remembers the day of May 1988 when he "met" "Ordinary World". This book gave him endless strength and changed the course of his life more than a decade later.

One afternoon in May 1988, Hu Nantang was having lunch when an announcer from the Central People's Radio read a novel on the radio on the table. He listened casually while eating with relish, and gradually his chopsticks slowed down and stopped—Hu Nantang was so attracted by the novel that he forgot to eat.

Hu Nantang fell in love with Lu Yao's works and fell into "Ordinary World" and could not extricate himself. From that day on, at 12:30 every day, he stayed in front of the radio on time until "Ordinary World" was finished.

After the publication of "Ordinary World", Hu Nantang went to buy a set for the first time. When he got the book, he read it hungrily, completely immersed in the book, and quickly finished reading the tome. Later, Hu Nantang lent this set of books to a friend, changed hands several times, and disappeared, but he did not feel pity, he felt that a good book, whoever read it would benefit. The book persisted in his life in different forms, and in his mind it was truly "talking old things."

"As of now, I have read 7 different versions of The Ordinary World and watched the TV series 10 times. Every time I read it, every time I read it, I reap the rewards. Hu Nantang said that Lu Yao used literature to give spiritual strength to strivers.

Because of "Shao'an", he decided to go to the sea to start a business

Reading "Ordinary World" is almost a compulsory course for Hu Nantang every day, and he has adhered to this habit for more than 30 years.

Reading "Ordinary World" in 2003, the plot of the book once again touched Hu Nantang - Sun Shaoan once went to Tian Futang's house and said: "The Yellow River water will always be clear one day, and people can't be poor for a lifetime!" Your Futang is not a fuel-saving lamp, so you will spend oil. Shao An and the villagers said, "Since it is going to be windy and rainy, why don't you have a lightning bolt and thunder?" Shao'an opened a small brick kiln factory, and later, he asked Henan's master to lead the villagers to open a large-scale brick factory and get rich together.

A thought flashed in Hu Nantang's mind - entrepreneurship.

In 2004, Hu Nantang put down the "iron rice bowl" that others envied. At that time, Hu Nantang's family and relatives and friends all advised him, but he firmly said: "There is nothing in the world that cannot be done, only people who do not do it." I don't believe it, I have two hands, and I can't find a place to do it! ”

Two years later, however, Hu Nantang's company struggled and faced closure. During that time, he was extremely depressed. He opened "Ordinary World" again and saw such a plot: Sun Shaoan borrowed money to buy a mule and wanted to do the work of pulling bricks, but as a result, the mule was lost. Shao'an did not eat, drink or sleep, but he did not flinch, but cheered up, and in the end, Shao'an's character touched people, the mule was found, and the work was also there.

Sun Shao'an's experience inspired Hu Nantang, who regained his strength and continued to devote himself to his work. With his efforts, the company slowly got out of the predicament and grew stronger.

Not far away, he visited Lu Yao's former residence many times

Hu Nantang not only read "Ordinary World" himself, but also encouraged the company's employees to read and guide his son Hu Xiaonan to read. Under his influence, employees and Hu Xiaonan also liked "Ordinary World". In order to more deeply feel the "Ordinary World" and feel the spirit of Lu Yao, Hu Nantang repeatedly took Hu Xiaonan and his employees to Visit Lu Yao's former residence in Guojiagou Village, Yanchuan County, Shaanxi Province.

On May 20, 2017, Hu Nantang led Hu Xiaonan and the staff to Lu Yao's former residence once again. Standing on the once barren land, the employees were touched by Lu Yao's persistence of not abandoning and not giving up, and Hu Xiaonan wrote a sentence in the guestbook: "A new starting point, everything starts again." ”

Hu Nantang said that after returning from Lu Yao's former residence, Hu Xiaonan was like a changed person, becoming more hardworking and diligent. In the end, Hu Xiaonan was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music with excellent results.

By chance, Hu Nantang bought the black leather bag that Lu Yao used before his death, and he treasured it as a treasure. He hopes that this leather bag can often remind his son of "Ordinary World" and forge the spirit of self-improvement.

Hu Nantang said that along the way, every progress he has made is inseparable from the book "Ordinary World".

In recent years, Hu Nantang has purchased hundreds of sets of "Ordinary World" and given them to the people around him for free, hoping to make this book affect more people. In order to let everyone better understand and feel the "Ordinary World", in August 2018, Hu Nantang made a bold decision: to build a "Ordinary World" theme courtyard.

He rented an idle farmyard in Chaihe Village, Mengjin District, invested hundreds of thousands of yuan, and spent more than half a year with his employees to transform the house and the 3-hole cave into a book-style house. The theme of the 3-hole cave is distinct, among which the "Shuangshui Village Cave" basically reproduces the furnishings in Lu Yao's former residence, and the classic sentences in "Ordinary World" can be seen everywhere in the courtyard.

When people walk into this theme courtyard, it is as if they have walked into Lu Yao's hometown. After the completion of the theme courtyard, Hu Nantang regularly held reading clubs here, and exchanged reading experiences with dozens of "Ordinary World" enthusiasts and talked about the spirit of Lu Yao.

"If you are at the trough of life, don't be sad, don't be melancholy, pick up a shovel and do it, or read The Ordinary World, the troubles will disappear and a force will accumulate in your heart." 」 Hu Nantang said that he hopes that more people can read "Ordinary World", absorb the spiritual nutrients in the book, and write a wonderful life. If evening newspaper readers are interested, please feel free to contact him to visit his theme courtyard.
