For this reason, the modern calligraphy practice process will be quite different from the traditional writing process. As a calligraphy explorer in this stage of change, I have experienced more than forty years of practice, and I have summed up some experiences from my own learning and shared them with you.
First, there must be enough interest
Modern book learners are different from the ancients, divorced from practical writing, and the interest in writing will determine the time to insist on practicing, and the length of time determines the solidity of the basic skills.
Interests can be cultivated, deepened and intensified with learning, with continuous achievement. You can study, you can study with like-minded people, you can participate in societies at all levels, you can participate in competitions within your ability...

Third, indispensable basic skills
The so-called basic skills, as far as techniques are concerned, are nothing more than the use of pens, knots, and essays, as well as matching philology, poetry and other cultural cultivation.
The ancients paid great attention to the practice when they first learned, and although most of the scholars also had continuous records of the practice after becoming a family, this kind of practice was purposefully absorbed on the basis of self-reliance on ancient texts. The absorption of nutrients will not be completely placed on the ancient thesis.

The basic skills take a long time to go back and forth, from perception to writing effect, from positive to complete, from the writing of a stroke to the natural connection, from fixed glyphs to random stretching, from dignified glyphs to personality retraction, each step has an epiphany and consolidation of alternation, so there is no twenty or thirty years of skill in calligraphy to become a family is all delusional.

The basic skills are ultimately manifested in the rules that can be expressed when any volatilization and creation, and it seems to be a kind of literacy, which ensures the richness, thickness and intriguing taste in the expression of calligraphy.
The basic skill should be the technical support of random writing, rather than describing the ability to copy a fixed blueprint in the chest. The latter is the biggest misunderstanding in contemporary basic learning.
Laying the foundation should be done step by step, one by one, and not swallowing dates in three or four directions. The inscriptions that are first exposed to and studied will largely affect the rest of their lives.
Fourth, widely collect and learn
If you want to form your own style, you must first know what style you have, what is your own style, and what is the nutrition you need. His own style is gradually formed in such a big environment, and it is produced in deepening the feelings and trade-offs between likes and dislikes.
A wide range of acquisitions, partly from the inside of the word, more is the kung fu outside the word, living in today's rich world, all aspects of knowledge, all kinds of ability to deal with the world, all kinds of professional training will enable a person to have their own insights and means when dealing with unknown things. Therefore, when this unknown thing is locked into calligraphy, rich experience and experience will make calligraphy improve to varying degrees.
The understanding of calligraphy must not stay on the few inscriptions and fonts that are temporary and liked, Chinese calligraphy is in the same vein, and the understanding of all branches can make the font change style a reference for each other, which is convenient for finding out the rules. Fifth, aesthetics and style
The formation of aesthetics is usually closely related to the family environment and the experience of life, usually naturally produced, sometimes too deliberate to produce a contrived effect, known as tacky.
Aesthetics and the times have an inevitable connection, and aesthetics in turn determines the atmosphere of calligraphy at the metaphysical level, so there is a saying that "calligraphy is contemporary".
Since aesthetics have the personality of the times, there is also a popular book style, and usually in history, different aesthetic orientations will be produced because of dynasties. A large epidemic will retain a small number of the best, and there will also be some so-called non-flowers, which will be preserved as references because they do not enter the stream. Therefore, aesthetics is determined by a person's style, and aesthetics is the artistic orientation of a calligrapher.
Many people will have a far-reaching subconscious when they first accept certain beautiful things, this consciousness will often affect a person's aesthetics, unless they encounter some shocking visual influences in life, many people will deepen their aesthetic consciousness within a certain category and gradually form their own aesthetic orientation. This process is absolutely impossible for a person living in the open world to exist only in calligraphy. Therefore, a person's life is the key to influencing a person's aesthetics, so the book critics will consider the book writer and his environment, experience, cultural background or other achievements together.
Aesthetics also lie in guidance. The influence of mentors and friends, the influence of the environment, and the subjective pursuit of people can be adjusted to some extent. In fact, there are many things that are known first and then gradually adapted.
Style is a very personal thing, but also a kind of thing to determine the difference between elegance and customs, because the style has a certain relativity, so the definition of elegance for different people is not so clear.
The style of calligraphy is closely related to the style of a person's life, so the ancients had the saying that "words are like people". This style is an abstract style and feeling, unlike some people's understanding, like traitors, traitors, and second ministers, and the morally corrupt people will definitely have the calligraphic expression of corresponding feelings. In fact, the performance of style is more reflected in a person's persistence and abandonment, that is, how much they take and give up, or what they want to keep and give up. There are choices of direction and degree of style. There are similar trade-offs in life, and if the trade-offs in life are reflected in the direction, there may be a difference between loyalty and betrayal. If it is only reflected in the degree, there will not be so many problems of line and program.
In life, many directions of trade-offs and degrees of trade-offs are bound to be expressed in calligraphy, which is what we call "style". The so-called "principled" is a rigorous expression of style in ethics, showing "rigidity" in calligraphy, and the "loose" writing actually comes from the mentality of the writer who is willing to give up. There is no "route problem" in the direction that can be selected in calligraphy, most of which is determined by habits, and after choosing the direction, most of it is a matter of degree.
Not everyone has a style, or not everyone can stick to and grasp certain trade-offs. But as an accomplished artist or a person who has contributed to humanity, he must have his own style. People who don't know the trade-offs can't succeed if they die of exhaustion! For the rigorous person, style is his flexible use; for romantic people, style becomes a constraint on personality.
But when style and aesthetics are completely combined, taste is produced. When a work of art sublimates the body and mind of an appreciative viewer to a certain extent, the work is often referred to as having a certain taste, that is, when the work of art is accepted, taste is an important indicator.
The combination of style and aesthetics is a sign of the maturity of a work of art, and this combination also takes a long time, which cannot be completed and achieved in the simple promotion of "pro-creation" in contemporary times. This fusion of spiritual dimensions is matched by the generation of personalities at specific stages of life, and the rare thing about calligraphers lies in this, which cannot be achieved quickly.
Analyze people with style and feel what everyone and experts call beautiful. Raise the spirit to observe and behave and do things.
Sixth, give full play to talents
A good calligrapher ultimately depends on his talent.
In adolescence, talent can be expressed in the ability to comprehend, the speed of mastery, and the ability to write at will. This period can often play a primitive unrestrained state in the emergency state of writing. Many young writers are discovered because of their talent. In recent national exhibitions, there have been many outstanding newcomers, most of whom are very talented, and if they want to succeed, they must go through a long period of basic skills training. Talent often contradicts hard work, and as long as there is a lack of one side, it will be difficult to start a family.
The talent of the middle-aged and elderly period is manifested in the comprehensive learning, tempering and meaningful expression, and this period should be used to pull the glyphs through the speed of writing, to take care of the left and right, to promote individuality.
Times are different, and there are more and more talented people, but it does not mean that more and more people can appear. Talent is the guarantee of being able to stand out and shine in the end, but if there is no layer of foundation and accumulation, even if it is occasionally eye-catching, it will not be able to add icing on the cake to high-level works.
One of the advantages of the national exhibition is that it can mobilize the talents of the book writers at different times and give them the opportunity to play.
Talent can never be hidden, there is a deep foundation of the foreshadowing, talent becomes the light of wisdom, no foundation of talent is a little clever, flashing.
Seventh, timely, timely, creative
Opportunities are always seized by those who are prepared, but in addition to fate, ability is also very important. Every exhibition, every solo exhibition, every exhibition, every contact with a level of bookmakers and even every contact with accomplished people in other industries is an opportunity to learn and an opportunity to be recognized. Maintaining a keen receiving and sending status makes it easy to spot and exploit opportunities. In this era, it is unlikely that you want to be widely known without watching exhibitions at home, without making horizontal contact, and wanting to be accepted by people.
By the way, while absorbing and studying the ancients, it is easier and more intuitive to absorb nutrients from contemporary people. We can examine their changes, have the opportunity to communicate in person, promote each other, and feel the influence of the times.
Creation is a necessary condition for the so-called called everyone, and the generation of creativity can sometimes be enlightened. The most important thing to create is to have the idea of daring to innovate, and creation is also opportunistic. This timing may be at various stages of learning books, or it may be accumulated to a considerable extent before it suddenly bursts out, that is, anyone can do it, depending on whether you do it or not. Whether you know or don't know the result, you are willing to do it to be successful.
There is nothing terrible about creation, it is just "lawlessness" when writing.
Eighth, the chest block and thick accumulation of thin hair
"Heart-to-heart" does not seem to be in the discussion. However, throughout the generations of well-known scholars, there are few chicken and dog thieves, and the larger the scribes, the more they have a kind of elegance. Most of the scribes of the past generations were important officials, with rich experience, or leaders of the literary world for a while, who were well-known in all directions, and all had a space for controlling the overlook, and this kind of command was determined and freely commanded to make it penetrate into the book, even if the book was not more than inches, it could encompass everything and swallow mountains and rivers.
There are also some calligraphers, books broken ten thousand volumes, art cover in all directions, the chest of the longitude and latitude suddenly open, the pen is clear and transparent, warm and proud, strong and contain the wind. The reason why there is such a weather is thanks to the accumulation of a lifetime that there are a few lines of jane.
If you want to learn and use it, if you want to integrate it, you can't do it without excessive reading, without sufficient experience, without rich experience, and you can't do it only by reading with your needs and having a long time.
Calligraphy is a cultural undertaking. There must be a cultural atmosphere. To be a soldier must be heroic, to explore must be courageous, and to write with style. Where does the word "qi" come from? It all comes from the fingers of how many books have been turned. Life is short, it is the book that shortens the time for people to receive knowledge, and the book that relatively prolongs people's lives.
Someone asked me, what book do I want to read? The answer is very simple, in addition to the monographs of the calligraphy major, you can read whatever you want, as long as you have enough time, it is important to read it and realize it. If the book is not read enough and is not deep enough, the knowledge cannot be integrated and penetrated.
There is no interest in learning calligraphy, calligraphy is a very boring thing; there is no teacher to guide writing calligraphy, calligraphy is an uncertain thing; there is no time to write calligraphy, calligraphy is a meaningless thing; do not understand calligraphy to write calligraphy, calligraphy is boring things; do not know what is the real beauty of calligraphy to write calligraphy, calligraphy is useless things; no talent to write calligraphy, calligraphy is a stuff that relieves boredom; no creativity to write calligraphy, always be a calligraphy student; there is no learning to write calligraphy, calligraphy always stays in the technical stage.
