In February, Apple's satellite partner Globalstar said it had reached an agreement with an anonymous user to provide "ongoing satellite services" with 17 new Globalstar satellites, which were reported to cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

This year, Apple will release three different series of Apple Watches, including the regular, SE and sports versions, of which the normal and sports versions are likely to add this satellite communication feature.

Mark Gurman said in August last year that Apple's emergency services and SOS alarm functions are only effective in some countries and regions. After Apple deploys the satellite array, emergency services and SOS alarms on its own devices will be available worldwide.
