First of all, to review some of the fundamentals of the Maserati Grecale, the overall design of the new car has a strong Italian style, but compared to levante's fierce aura, Grecale is relatively rounded, and the price and temperament are more intimate.
My personal favorite is the official yellow car paint, which maximizes the lines and light of the Gregare, especially the huge air intake shape on both sides of the bumper, which adds a lot of detail to the sporty feel of the whole car. In addition, the LOGO of "Trident" is still retained on the C-pillar.
Inside the car, Grecale's highlight is the five-screen design, which is the first time in Maserati's history that the sense of technology is the main point of competition in the interior, the so-called five-screen mainly contains a 12.3-inch instrument combination screen, a 12.3-inch central multimedia touch screen, a HUD head-up display, an 8.8-inch comfort control touch screen and a Maserati smart clock (this is a screen?). ）。
Whether it looks good or not, at least in terms of technology atmosphere, it is indeed much higher than the previous Maserati models. But what I'm personally more looking forward to is whether Grecale has really reached the standards of an ultra-luxury brand in terms of workmanship.
Judging from the previous test drives of Levante and Ghibli, although these two cars are quite powerful in interior materials, and the large-area leather wrapping looks proud, there is an uneven gap between the trim panels in the interior, and the damping of the keys is not excellent, which is completely inferior to the brand positioning of a slightly lower half-level Lexus.
On the contrary, the same level of Porsche Macan and Cayenne, whether in terms of workmanship or texture, are not inferior to Maserati's contemporary products, I think this is also one of the reasons why Cayenne's sales can beat Levante by a large margin.
Of course, Grecale also has a big attraction is Maserati's traditional ability: exhaust sound, although the sound wave on the entry model of the sedan series, Ghibli, is indeed a bit crotch-pulling, but for The Gregare, it is one of the magic weapons it can win the Macan.
Looking at the price again, the Grecale has about 80,000 yuan more than the Macan in terms of starting price, but considering that Porsche's options are usually richer and more detailed than Maserati, the landing price of the two models should not be much different in the entry configuration.
But once you focus on the Maserati's main 3.0T version, its price comes to 999,800 yuan, which is 310,000 yuan more expensive than the Macan S and 150,000 yuan more expensive than the Macan GTS, which is a bit overconfident, although the Gregare's 2.0T and 3.0T engine performance will be much higher than the Macan, such as the 3.0T engine equipped with Poseidon technology and the MC20 "Nettuno Poseidon" engine, with 530 horsepower. But the Macan GTS, which has PDK and Sport Chrono, doesn't have many performance advantages at the moment.
Overall, the current Gregare does not have a significant advantage over Macan in all aspects, and The Macan is even lower in price. However, in the field of ultra-luxury brands, consumers will consider more brand identity when choosing a car, but I don't think That Grecale has the possibility of impacting or affecting Macan sales.
