Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV (FF14), has apologized for the ongoing problems with the MMORPG game's new housing lottery system, which fails to allow players to win any land.

In an article on the game's official website, Yoshida outlined the work done by the team to solve the problem, namely that players were told that their bid was unsuccessful because "no one participated in this draw", or that the winning number was "0"... Although no player can be assigned this number.

"We understand that this is a major issue and are prioritizing the investigation of the matter," Yoshida said. "We are trying to identify problems in the appropriate procedure; however, since the process is very complex and involves many patterns of lottery conditions, it will take some time to determine where the problem lies."

"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused, but please be patient for a while while concentrating on the investigation."

As a result, the team extended the "results announcement period" (previously expected to end on Wednesday, April 20) to an undetermined time. The developer also promised not to conduct any further sweepstakes until the investigation was concluded and the situation was resolved.

"We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused to our players. We will continue to work to pinpoint the cause of the problem and resolve it so that the lottery system correctly identifies the winners and shows the appropriate results," the update added.

After several major updates, Final Fantasy XIV players are probably tired of playing and have begun to engage in various fancy activities, such as arguing about how to eat boiled eggs recently.
