Beijing, April 16 (China News Network) -- Zhong Liansheng, representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage cloisonné making technology, and Zhang Tiecheng, representative inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Beijing jade carving technology, jointly created the "Thousand Autumn Luck" jade bi cloisonné in Beijing for the first time, opening the dialogue between the two intangible cultural heritage skills.

Cloisonné, also known as "copper tire filigree enamel", originated in Persia, and later came to China via the Silk Road, and was popular during the Jingdong period of the Ming Dynasty. In 2006, the cloisonné making technique was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in the mainland.

The Beijing jade carving, which is also the "Eight Absolute Gems of Yanjing" with cloisonné, is a collection of royal ceremonial jade culture, with a simple and magnificent shape and profound cultural heritage. In 2008, Beijing jade carving was selected into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. The well-known Beijing Olympic Games "Gold inlaid Jade" medal was designed and produced by Zhang Tiecheng, a master of Chinese arts and crafts.

The work "Thousand Autumn Luck" jointly created by the two Chinese arts and crafts masters symbolizes the beauty of the years and the longevity of Chang'an, and integrates a variety of intangible cultural heritage skills such as cloisonné, jade carving, filigree and metal engraving. Its shape is inspired by the Palace Museum's treasure "Jade Carving Changle Bi" - the original relief carving, through carving, yin carving and other crafts, as well as new carving methods such as circular bi out of the silhouette carving, which is of great ornamental value and collection value.

"Thousand Autumn Luck" is partly carved with double dragons holding gourds (harmonic "Fulu"), and the gourd is inlaid with red onyx gems, implying that blessings descend from heaven and good fortune is the head. On one side of the work, the cloisonné fortune bi, on the other side is a metal engraved Baifu Bi, the styles are very different, each with its own advantages. Among them, the highlight of fortune bi is the central circular jade carving, engraved with the "sun god bird" pattern that has been passed down for thousands of years and circled around the blessing, and the jade carving protrudes from the plane, and the decoration of the upper edge of the double dragon shines together, implying that the dragon and phoenix are auspicious, the blessing is in front of the eyes, and the luck is thousands of autumns.

At the launch ceremony, Xie Yanhua, general secretary of the party branch and chairman of Beijing Enamel Factory Co., Ltd., told the arduous process of cloisonné technology - from rescue and recovery to inheritance and development, to pioneering and innovating. He said that today, cloisonné is seeking breakthroughs in shape, ornamentation, concept, color and other aspects, and is glowing with a new era style.

Chang Shana, a famous art and design educator and "daughter of Dunhuang", also came to the launch ceremony. The ninety-year-old recalled that he had become acquainted with cloisonné skills because of Lin Huiyin, and said that even though he was 91 years old, such activities were still "reluctant to come" and "felt kind".

Under the guidance of Lin Huiyin, Chang Shana participated in many cloisonné designs, including the use of Dunhuang patterns, floral sketching patterns, etc. in cloisonné design, which was in the downturn of cloisonné. Chang Shana said that the most important influence on her is to inherit, continue and develop traditional culture, design according to the needs of society, and combine functions and characteristics.

She said that nowadays, there are fewer and fewer references to "craftsmanship", collectively referred to as "design", which she does not agree with. She also said that most of today's young people engaged in design use computers to "draw one picture after another" and "lack feelings". She hopes to continue the Chinese context, so that Chinese cultural characteristics can be inherited and developed according to the needs of the times, and a brand with Chinese characteristics will be formed.

The national premiere ceremony was hosted by Beijing Enamel Factory and Beijing Ronghui Culture. (End)
