Founded in 2010, the "Ballet Creative Workshop" is a public welfare brand project created by China Ballet to cultivate young artistic talents, and has gone through 12 years. This year's workshop is titled "1/12", of which "12" represents the 12 years that the workshop has experienced since its inception, and it is also the 12 choreographers who participated in the workshop this year, while "12" symbolizes perfection and reincarnation in Chinese culture, implying that the workshop will continue to adhere to and set sail for a new journey. "1" represents everyone involved in the workshop, as well as the first creation they are either happening or having experienced, and represents the eternal "original intention" of the workshop platform and everyone involved in it.

The 10 latest compilations of this workshop are rich in themes, and the young choreographers are bold and innovative, sincerely creating, and the themes involve art, life, emotion, culture and other aspects, with ballet art as the carrier to integrate the thoughts and ideas of contemporary young people. Sun Haifeng's "Yi", Su Yang's "Looking for the Zhong Zi Period", Shu Junjun's "The Soul of Shu Ti", and Li Jun's "Where spring returns", skillfully combine Chinese culture and ballet art, showing the ancient oriental civilization picture scroll on the tip of the toe; Li Zhuangzhuang's "When Life Goes on", Li Yang's "The Longest Journey", Peng Jie's "Home", Liu Xuechen's "Leaving the Grass from the Plains" express the young choreographers' thinking and perception of life and life, and convey positive energy of positivity, optimism and progress; Xu Yan and Wang Jiyu's "Departure from the Grass" express the young choreographers' thinking and understanding of life and life, and convey positive energy of being positive and optimistic; Xu Yan and Wang Jiyu's "The Longest Journey" LIVE SHOW" and Yan Mengxuan, a student of China Ballet School, "Bye bye, Free Bones" fit the theme of workshop innovation, breaking through themselves and expanding the boundaries of creation.

Feng Ying, head of China Ballet and artistic director, said in an interview: "For Chinese, '12' is a special number, representing the cycle of time and our continuous accumulation. Therefore, in this workshop, we also dive into the review and summary, and also look forward to the future. This year's workshop has adopted the model of 'taking the old with the new', which includes both the choreographers of the old generation of China Andba, the creative strength of young and middle-aged people, and the new forces of China Ballet in the future. All along, China Ballet has insisted on using Western ballet vocabulary to express our own emotions, hoping that young choreographers can open their imaginations, boldly explore and communicate, gather a group of outstanding creative talents, and open up our own path in original works. ”
