Recently, Porsche announced a partnership with another German company, Rimowa. Rimowa has been known for its custom suitcases since 1950. The two parties will design and produce a hand-held suitcase inspired by the Porsche logo model 911. For fans of both companies, this is undoubtedly good news.
The product, called the Rimowa x Porsche suitcase Pepita, is a limited edition suitcase. Inspired by the 911, it certainly fits any Porsche product. According to Porsche, from the 996th generation to the latest 992th generation, the suitcase fits neatly into the front luggage compartment of the 911. For air-cooled Porsches, the chassis can be comfortably mounted on the rear seat.
The sleek handles, locks and strap holders are inspired by the original 911's shiny door mirrors, door handles and hub covers. The custom palladium fastener is used to secure the case, similar to the Porsche 911 seat belt. In addition, the gold-plated, full-size Porsche coat of arms blends perfectly with the Rimowa trademark grooves – the same as those found on traditional Porsche models such as the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Edition.
The 911-inspired Rimowa Pepita has a capacity of 30 litres. The interior is made of fabric after opening, reproducing the black and white plaid Pepita cloth in the interior of the Porsche 911. In addition, a tribute is paid to the sports car's yellow engine compartment label, which contains the recommended tire pressure values.
As mentioned earlier, the Rimowa x Porsche suitcase Pepita is a limited edition product. Only 911 cases will be produced and will be available on sale in the Porsche Online Shop from 21 April 2022.
