Under such a large environmental impact, more and more consumers are considering switching to the new energy camp, and the new energy vehicle market has entered a period of rapid rise. As a leading enterprise of new energy vehicles in China, BYD has also released many blockbuster new cars in recent times, and has comprehensively upgraded its existing product lines.
One of the latest products is the 2022 Don EV.
Tang is BYD's flagship SUV, but also for BYD to create today's new energy dynasty of meritorious models, its every upgrade will attract the attention of many consumers. The professor recently experienced this new car statically at the 2022 Tang EV conference, and then everyone followed the professor's lens to see what changes the new car brought and what new highlights!
First of all, the change in appearance is the most obvious.
The appearance design style of the current Tang series SUV Dragon Face refreshed the upper limit of the design level of its own brand that year, although it is still online and very attractive, but the Tang EV as a pure electric model does not have a particularly strong recognition in the car series. So in this redesign, BYD replaced the latest generation of family design front face for Tang EV.
The silver trim that runs through the front face, connecting the headlights on both sides, is the same as the Han series sedan, which is also known for its high appearance; however, the older model's flatter, traditional large-area intake grille has been eliminated, replaced by a more prominent, streamlined, and three-dimensional closed mid-mesh, and the heat dissipation work is responsible for the active grille below the front encirclement.
Combined with the fairing air vents on both sides of the front surround and the through-type welcome light, the entire front face gets rid of the small "gasoline feeling" that is still retained in the previous old models, and completely transforms into an electrified design style.
The lower led strip that runs through the front surround will light up when the car is locked or unlocked, which is the welcome light of the 2022 Don EV.
The 21-inch oversized wheel hub also adopts a new low-impedance design, the spoke area is very large; although the Brembo brake caliper with the highest "keyboard value" of the Tang series is tightly blocked, but with the new Aurora blue paint, the whole car will indeed look more like an "electric car", which is very recognizable.
Although the styling changes in the rest of the body are not obvious, with the blessing of details such as the new front face and the resistance reduction wheels, the image of the new car can still bring a new feeling.
In terms of the styling of the central control, the 2022 Tang EV still retains the design of the old model, but adopts a new color scheme.
The "Sky Gray" interior color scheme is made of black, off-white clad materials and orange stitching; compared with the color scheme of the old model based on black and dark brown, the "Sky Gray" color scheme obviously makes the Tang EV's carriage appear brighter, cleaner and more stylish.
In the professor's view, this new color scheme makes the layering of Tang EV's interior improved, and many design details that have not been noticed in the past are also revealed through color matching; although the fundamental design has not been changed, it still gives people a refreshing feeling.
In the back row, the biggest highlight is the new 2+2+2 six-seat layout.
The six-seat layout allows Tang EV to obtain two independent two-row seats, which is obviously a good thing to enhance the sense of high-end, and this is also the main seat layout of the next 2022 Tang EV.
And because the two seats do not have a very exaggerated "aviation seat" design, there is a rather practical central passage between them, combined with a central hand pillow that can be rotated and folded, providing easy access for passengers to enter and exit the third row.
However, although the new car has a two-row central aisle, the quick forward push and backrest folding function of the second row seats is missing.
The central passage is convenient, but for passengers in the third row, it is always a bit inconvenient to enter the second row first and then bend down through the central passage to enter the third row.
After all, Tang EV is an SUV model, and its vertical space performance of the carriage is always difficult to compare with the MPV model, and in this case, the professor believes that it is still necessary to retain the functions of two rows of seats with one key forward and folding backrest.
As for the spatial performance of the third row, it is basically the same as the old model, and has not been significantly upgraded because of the redesign; but because the second row uses independent seats, the passengers in the third row can extend their long legs into the gaps on both sides of the second row of seats, which seems to bring some help to the ride comfort.
The 6-seat layout is the main upgrade of the space part, while the upgrade of the configuration part is much richer.
For the driver, the new W-HUD head-up display system is a very practical configuration; it will certainly not be as cool as some of the current large AREA AR-HUDs, but the speed, navigation, driver assistance status display and other functions have been able to bring enough help to driving.
The rotatable central control multimedia screen is still there, the software functions are still very rich, and the new model has also upgraded the DiLink 4.0 intelligent networking system, supporting 5G networks, which can make the built-in networked entertainment applications get a better experience.
DiPilot's driver assistance is still fully functional, as are conveniences such as 360-degree panoramic images and automatic parking.
The upgrade of the driver assistance configuration is still "conventional", and the upgrade of the comfort configuration is really amazing.
First of all, the new car is equipped with a new intelligent fragrance system, which can choose a variety of odors such as empty mountain twilight rain, spiritual tranquility and summer wind sea salt according to different preferences; and these car fragrance materials are all alcohol-free, will not bring adverse effects to the human body, so that home users with babies are more at ease.
In addition, the model of this static experience is the top product of the series, and the front and second row seats are equipped with seat ventilation, heating and massage functions! And the two-row seats also support multi-directional electric adjustment, which is more upscale.
As for the power performance part, the top model can output a total of 380kW of maximum power with dual motors at the front and rear, and only 4.4 seconds of acceleration from 0-100km/h; this performance level is on par with the old model.
However, the new blade battery has greatly increased the maximum cruising range of the 2022 Tang EV to 730km (CLTC working conditions data, NEDC operating range is 700km), which is of great significance for improving practicality.
Such pure electric endurance data undoubtedly makes the 2022 Tang EV one of the pure electric vehicle models with the longest endurance in the same class, and this advantage is very important for pure electric vehicles, even if some medium and long-distance travel is not panicked.
In addition, for the first time, a variable shock absorber has been introduced in the suspension system, which provides a choice of comfort and sport by adjusting the damping.
However, the question of whether the new car is good or not, whether it is quiet or uncomfortable still needs to wait for the test drive before it can be judged; professors who only experience the new car statically now make no guess.
As BYD's flagship SUV model, the 2022 Don EV is destined to be one of the most expensive products in BYD's entire product family; according to the news obtained by the professor, the new car will open pre-sale in mid-to-late April and be officially launched in May, and the price is expected to be in the range of 300,000 to 350,000 yuan.
300,000 is not a small number, in this mid-to-high-end SUV segment, the 2022 Don EV must show enough sincerity to be worthy of its "flagship SUV" identity in order to impress consumers.
Therefore, BYD's optimization of the interior look and feel with a new color scheme and the great improvement of the configuration are aimed at improving the grade of Tang EV and creating a more luxurious atmosphere.
