Speaking of the March recall, I have to repeat the same tune, to talk about Mercedes-Benz. In fact, there are not many car companies that issued recall announcements in March, only 5, but the models involved are not small, with a total of more than 110,000 vehicles. Among them, Mercedes-Benz is the only one, with more than 91,000 problem cars announced to be recalled, once again winning the crown of "King of Recall". Which cars are the ones, Mercedes-Benz owners need to know.
● In March, Mercedes-Benz issued two recall announcements.
※On March 4, Mercedes-Benz recalled imported S-Class and domestically produced C models as follows:
Some imported S-class units produced from June 21, 2021 to November 8, 2021, totaling 5,034 units;
From December 9, 2020 to November 29, 2021, some of the domestic C-class were produced, with a total of 25,773 units.
The reason for the recall is a software problem with the control unit of the communication module, which may cause the voice connection to not be established during the emergency call or the emergency call function to be unusable, resulting in the related rescue delay.

※On March 25, Mercedes-Benz conducted another large-scale recall, involving as many as 17 models and more than 60,000 vehicles, namely:
1) Part of the C-class produced from March 26, 2021 to September 22, 2021, a total of 4628 units;
2) Some imported A-class, B-class, E-class, CLA, CLS, GLC, GLB, GLE, GLS, AMG GT produced from October 29, 2018 to June 18, 2021, a total of 38,318 units;
3) From August 15, 2018 to October 13, 2021, some domestically produced A-class, E-class, GLA, GLB, GLC, EQC, a total of 17,312 units.
The reasons for this recall are twofold:
1) Due to the deviation of software development, the engine control unit memory may not be able to write the engine starting data correctly, resulting in the newly started engine shutting down and not restarting.
2) 3) It is because the MBUX multimedia display may not start properly, resulting in the image of the rearview camera that assists the driver to reverse cannot be displayed on the display.
The solution to the problem is to upgrade the software, 1) upgrade the engine control unit software, 2) 3) upgrade the MBUX multimedia software through the OTA.
Toyota also issued a recall in March, faw Toyota's Yize and GAC Toyota's C-HR were both recalled for the same reason, as follows:
Part of the Yize produced from April 30, 2020 to August 19, 2021, a total of 13,999 units;
Some C-HCs produced from April 29, 2020 to July 30, 2021, totaling 9,503 units.
These vehicles are due to the fact that the millimeter wave radar sensor may not be successful in the optical axis adjustment setting, and the vehicle in front cannot be recognized during the use of the vehicle, resulting in the dynamic radar cruise control system (DRCC), lane following assistance system (LTA) and pre-collision safety system (PCS) some functions do not work properly.
It is recommended that the owner check whether his car is included in the recall in time, if so, it is recommended to suspend the use of dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC), lane follow-up assist system (LTA) and pre-collision safety system (PCS) functions before maintenance, and go to the store to check the optical axis adjustment status of the millimeter wave radar sensor, and if the setting is not successful, timely optical axis adjustment settings.
Hyundai Motor also issued a recall in March for imported Jawa, covering some models produced between October 10, 2016 and February 27, 2018.
The reason for the recall is that the airbag control module (ACU) housing may interfere with the internal memory, which will cause memory damage and the airbag warning light to light up, resulting in the possibility that the airbag may not be able to deploy properly in the event of a vehicle collision.
It is recommended that the owner of the imported Jawa go to check in time, because the reasons for the inability to unfold the airbags are different, and the solutions are also different. If the airbag warning light is not lit, the airbag control module program is upgraded free of charge for the vehicle, and the airbag control parameters are stored on the internal memory and the microprocessor at the same time, when the internal memory is damaged, the airbag warning light is lit, but the airbag can work normally; if the airbag warning light is lit, then further check the airbag control module, if the control module is damaged, then replace the improved control module free of charge.
● Finally, BMW, although only 63 problem cars were recalled, there were many models involved, including the domestic BMW 3 Series, X3 and imported BMW 2 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, X3, X5, X6.
The reasons for the recall are not the same, the domestic model is due to a production error, resulting in the automatic transmission of the mechatronic control system assembly part of the bolt is not installed correctly; the imported model is due to the driver's front airbag equipped with a gas generator containing ammonium nitrate produced by Takata Corporation.
