It is rumored that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remake may be logged on to the Switch

Last month, Microsoft President Brad Smith mentioned that shortly after announcing plans to buy Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, the tech giant wanted to bring the Call of Duty series to the Switch.

With that in mind, there's now news that Activision is "supposedly" planning to introduce Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered to the Nintendo Switch. It is rumored that the login to the Switch will be the exact same remake that was already launched on the PS4 and Xbox One in 2016.

This information comes from Call of Duty's Uncle Party RalphsValve: "Activision is said to be considering releasing remastered Call of Duty games that are being repurposed on updated consoles to fill the gap between premium Call of Duty games... Call of Duty 5, Call of Duty 1, and 2 — and even later in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remake are all currently being discussed." Everything else was described by a colleague as complicated..."

"To address this confusion, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remake is said to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, the first time Switch has introduced the Call of Duty series consoles."

When Microsoft initially revealed that it would acquire Activision Blizzard, it not only confirmed that Call of Duty would continue to be available on existing platforms, such as Sony's PlayStation, but also mentioned that it wanted to expand the platform for the series. Brad Smith said at the time:

"We want to bring it (Call of Duty) to Nintendo devices. We want to bring in the other popular games that Activision has and make sure they continue to be available on the PlayStation, (and) they can land in to Nintendo. ”

Call of Duty was last seen on Nintendo consoles in the Wii U era, with Call of Duty 9: Black Ops 2 released in 2012 and Call of Duty 10: Ghosts released in 2013 being the last two.

Considering that as of December 31, 2021, the Nintendo Switch has sold more than 103 million units worldwide, the release of Call of Duty on the Switch could bring a huge revenue to Activision. We will also continue to monitor the progress of this matter.
