Overwatch's injury hero Iron Fist will switch characters in Overwatch 2, pending final release.

The news comes from overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller announcing in a recent live stream that Tekken will be a tank hero. Keller even talked about some details about the change, including some conversions to the iron fist's skills that made him a tank.

"Simply put, he's going to have a jump like Winston," Keller said.

Winston's jump is more about horizontal movement, while the Tekken jump, as it's currently in Overwatch, is about vertical height and the resulting slam damage. It sounds like his jump will be more similar to Winston in Overwatch 2, which makes a lot of sense, as it will give this once-Doom the ability to reach battle scenes faster and take some damage.

Keller further described the tank version of the Iron Fist as "easier to survive" with "good escape" abilities. During the live stream, Overwatch chief hero designer Geoff Goodman said that as a tank, the Tekken hurt "much less" than he once did, but he also said that today, in overshoots in Overwatch 2's closed tests, the Tekken is still overweight and needs to be weakened.

This is a big change for Tekken, and it's constantly changing with content updates that happen in Overwatch 2, such as a shift to 5v5 gameplay, new maps, new heroes, and new modes.

Of course, all this will not be seen until "Overwatch 2" is actually launched.
