It's been a while since AMD launched its super-sampling technology, FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR for short), a competitor to NVIDIA's DLSS technology, which we've seen over the past year gain widespread support from numerous PC games. Now, in the near future, we may also see the application of this technology on the host computer.
As of last June, AMD had added preview versions of FSRs to game developers' Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S development kits. Now, AMD has confirmed that FSR 2.0 will also land on the Xbox platform in the near future.
It's unclear when developers will be able to leverage FSR technology on Xbox consoles, but AMD says the supersampling technology will fully support the Xbox platform.
In recent months, a lot of developers have been talking about how to use supersampling technology in the development of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S games, improve the fidelity and performance of the picture, etc., so it will be interesting to see how they will use FSR technology in the future.
