CDPR confirmed yesterday (March 22) that The Witcher 4 (unofficially) is in development. There are not many specific details about the game, and the main focus of the announcement is the cdpr and EPIC cooperation agreement. But the image that accompanied the announcement caught the attention of many players: a wizard pendant buried in the snow.
Many players immediately had all sorts of speculations about the new game. The pendant is not wolf-school, which also means that Geralt is most likely not the protagonist of the new game. But it is not clear which school it is. It looks like a feline face, while Ciri wears the Cat School pendant in The Witcher 3, and her plot is clearly not over.
But then some fans pointed out that the new medal looks more like a pendant of the Bobcat/Lynx school. This is a brand new school, established by Lambert, a member of the Cat School and a friend of Geralt,000 after the events of The Witcher 3. In this way, the new game will be after The Witcher 3. But there's a problem: the Bobcat/Lynx school comes from fanfictions, not the ones that appeared in the original The Witcher/Demon Hunter novel, which is also the basis of the game.
This makes the emergence of the Lynx School almost entirely impossible... But on Twitter, a fan named Tasty Punisher got a response from Marcin Momot, CDPR's director of global communities, after pointing out that the pendant looked like a lynx. He replied with a gif nodding enthusiastically.
Now fans don't know what's true anymore. Has Momot confirmed that the new game will be about the Lynx School? Or is he just admitting that the pendant does look like a lynx? Or did CDPR redesign the pendant design for cat academy to better differentiate it from the Wolf School? Or is this just one of the new pendant designs you'll see in The Witcher 4?
In any case, some pointed out that "the lynx school may exist", while CDPR officials nodded their heads in acquiescence to the fact. This is good news for many fans.
