CDPR yesterday announced the postponement of the Next Generation Edition of The Witcher 3, which is already the second time to jump tickets (originally scheduled for the second quarter of 2022), and did not announce when the tickets will be jumped, but only said "until later", which made many long-awaited players very worried, because it sounds like "infinite postponement", so the news that "The Witcher 3 is in difficulty in development, and the next generation is delayed indefinitely" has spread.
However, in today's CDPR investor conference call, Micha Nowakowski, cdpr's senior vice president of business development, said that the above 'headlines' caught his attention, but he insisted that the delay in the next generation of The Witcher 3 was not due to development difficulties, but the game was transferred to insider development and needed to re-evaluate the development time.
Adam Kicinski, another administrator of CDPR, also came forward to explain, saying that "The Witcher 3 next-generation version does not have a lot of work to do in terms of upgrades", and when asked how many people will be needed to complete the project, Kicinski said: "It is estimated that about 15 people, plus some outsourcing personnel", he stressed that the project will not affect the development of the next game.
It is worth mentioning that when the next-generation version of The Witcher 3 was exposed, CDPR said that there were 50 people in development, and now it has become 15 people.
