According to reporter Jeff Grubb, the new "Need for Speed" series of games will be released in November this year, the story may occur in Miami, this game will focus on next-generation consoles, will not land on the PS4/Xbox One platform. He said:

They are moving to focus on the next-generation version.
This indicates that the EA may have changed its original plan. In 2021, EA announced a one-year delay in the release of the new Need for Speed game as developer Criterion Games was transferred to support the development of Battlefield 2042.
Laura Miele, EA's head of studio at the time, said that Criterion Games was still working on a new need for speed game that would have landed on next-generation and current-generation consoles by March 2023. Now, the release time of the new "Need for Speed" seems to be ahead of schedule.
Grubb didn't mention the PC version of the game, though.
At present, the latest work in the "Need for Speed" series is "Need for Speed Fever" in 2019, which landed on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The developer is Ghost Games, which has produced four titles in the series. The studio was split and reorganized in February 2020, and the development of the new work was given to Criterion Games.
