Ningxia Channel, March 21 (Xinhua) -- On March 20, the stage version of the newly compiled large-scale historical Peking opera "Zhuang Fei" created by the Peking Opera House of Ningxia Performing Arts Group completed the filming of the opera digital film, which is scheduled to be broadcast nationwide. The film version of "Zhuang Fei" will be performed in a cinematic way, retaining the stylized performance characteristics of Peking Opera, while integrating the aesthetic elements of film and television, better carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese opera art, permanently recording and inheriting classics, and promoting the development and prosperity of Ningxia's cultural and dramatic art.
"Zhuang Fei" is a Peking Opera drama created by Ningxia Performing Arts Group Peking Opera House in 2015, starring Liu Jing, president of Ningxia Peking Opera House. The performance and singing voice of the Peking Opera "Zhuang Fei" are different from the traditional old dramas, and the performance methods are closer to the characters themselves, and they are always closely around the inner portrayal of the characters from beginning to end, bringing a new artistic experience to the audience. The play has been widely acclaimed since its premiere in 2015, and in April of that year, Liu Jing participated in the 27th Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Awards competition, and won the Plum Blossom Award with the play, becoming the first "plum blossom" in Ningxia in addition to Qin Cavity. Subsequently, "Princess Zhuang" successively participated in the 11th China Arts Festival and the 15th Wenhua Awards, the 8th China Peking Opera Arts Festival, the 15th China Drama Festival, etc., and in 2017, it was selected into the National Stage Art Support Project Creation Directory and selected as the Digital Film Project of the Chinese Dramatists Association.
