Empress Xiaozhuang, full name Borzigit. Bumubutai, also known as Da Yu'er. In the tenth year of the Mandate of Heaven (1625), the thirteen-year-old Bumubutai married her uncle Taiji, who was twenty years older than her, as a side Fujin. Tiancong was born in the third year of Gulun Yongmu Princess Yatu; Tiancong was born in the sixth year of Gulun Shuhui Princess Attu; Tiancong was born in the seventh year of Gulun Duanxian Princess Shuzhe. In 1636, Emperor Taiji was proclaimed emperor and changed the era name to Chongde. Bumubutai was originally a side Fujin, and after Emperor Taiji perfected the system of concubines, he made Bumubutai a concubine of the Western Palace. That is, the concubine of Yongfu Palace, the concubine of Bumubutai came from this.
Although she was a concubine, Bumubutai was the last of the top five concubines in the Imperial Taiji Harem. After Bumubutai's death, she was posthumously honored as Empress Dowager Zhaosheng, and after several generations of sealing, she became Empress Xiaozhuang.
