As far as the art of calligraphy is concerned, the wei and Jin dynasties were a very important period for the development of calligraphy art in the mainland. It inherits the mature stage of Lishu at the end of the Han Dynasty, and then reaches its peak period; and the system of cursive, xingshu, and italic script produced by the transformation of Lishu is the next system.
