"Chip price increases, battery raw material prices, battery prices, Model Y car cycle of 10-14 weeks" and other news continue to refresh the consumer's eyeballs, but also a car company announced price increase news. The price of power batteries has risen, and the price of nickel, a battery material, has risen by 130%, while the price of cobalt, lithium and aluminum has risen by 16%-88% this year. In particular, the price of lithium carbonate has risen from 50,000 per ton to 500,000 per ton now, and it only takes one year. According to an agency's calculations, since the second half of last year, with the continuous rise in the prices of raw materials such as cobalt, lithium, manganese, and nickel, the cost of bicycle batteries has increased by about 3,000 yuan.

In addition to the increase in the cost of car companies caused by the increase in the price of chips and battery materials, there is also a decline in subsidy policies. In 2022, the subsidy standard for new energy vehicles will be reduced by 30% compared with 2021. Pure electric passenger car with a cruising range of less than 300 km is unsubsidized, and the subsidy for pure electric passenger cars with a cruising range of 300-400 km (including 300 km) is reduced to 9100 yuan; the subsidy for pure electric passenger cars above 400 km (including 400 km) is reduced to 12,600 yuan. Subsidies for plug-in hybrid models fell to 4800 yuan. At the same time, according to Article 1 of the Announcement on the Policies Related to the Exemption of Vehicle Purchase Tax for New Energy Vehicles, the policy of exempting the purchase tax from vehicle purchase tax for the purchase of new energy vehicles will end after December 31, 2022.

The subsidies received by car companies have decreased, and the subsidies received by consumers are also decreasing, and the policy of exemption from purchase tax will be abolished next year. Therefore, if there is already a plan to buy new energy vehicles, we must pay close attention to the implementation, and the price increase of new energy vehicles this year is bound to become the norm.
