Game Psychology: Fake Artifacts, Real Data

"Ah! This is a dragon slaying sword with a detonation rate of only 0.5%! Oh, my God! This is a super rare item! Brothers, join me in the battle against Sands! ”

Real things

In our real world, objects, as inanimate beings, are naturally placed into a list of ranks. Any item is valued and given meaning by the subject. We can assume that our minds are like a large workshop, and our understanding is that it is an inspection machine in the workshop. All real-world "things" are simulated, either as words or as figures, into the inspection machine. On this basis, our understanding is based on the screening and analysis of this word, and then a list of "value" is posted to end the process.

In the workings of nature, we believe in "things are scarce and precious". In this inspection machine, the more rare it is, the rarer its value is. Here, it is necessary to analyze what things are. Things may exist and be conceived by nature itself. Let's say stone, natural gas, crude oil. It may also be that nature did not have it, but it was created by human beings in labor, such as pianos, cars, pills. The things we mention repeatedly here are things that have their own form, real things. It's not just what words refer to. Thus, in reality, law, love, courage, these are not things. Things, in reality, must have a form, must be the same object that can be confirmed between two subjects.

At this point we find that in the dimension of the real thing, what we are talking about does not exist in an infinitely divergent space of thought. On the contrary, when a real thing is enclosed, it becomes a unique result that can only be it. Because what it has is a real form, this form occupies real space, and the lifespan of use determines the specific time it can exist in this reality. And such things, we call them the reality. The engine is a thing, the fuel efficiency of the engine is not. A dictionary is a thing, and the meaning of the words in the dictionary is not. Water is a thing, and the boiling point of water is not a thing.

When we understand this seemingly complex concept of reality, which actually exists because of form, can be found by the object of the allegation, we transition incomparably clearly to the objective perspective of the other. Because in any case, its object can and can only be unique, because its space-time coordinates paint the unique individual, so no matter how our consciousness intervenes, it is bound to be fruitless. Because the movements which our consciousness can carry out, the so-called mental activities, are directed towards a relatively disordered and chaotic imaginary world. Within this imaginary world, in addition to fantasy, there are many cultures, ideas, and spiritual places deeply hidden by the subject.

Looking at things from the perspective of others, we see the space-time line carried by things. Things must necessarily occupy the position of reality in reality, and they must also occupy a position in reality on the horizontal axis of time. And precisely because of the existence of their only object, the indefutable real form, and the completely different positions of space-time occupied, it makes it possible for us to rank them, and it is also a process that must happen. The fundamental significance of the form of things is that they can be stacked and accumulated, which means that even if it is only from the height point of view, there will be a difference between the bottom, the middle, and the upper level. This difference is a completely real difference, without the slightest speculation of the subject. The fact that the thing itself has an inherent time, that is, the service life, allows us to mark the order of things, and the things can therefore carry history and witness time.

From this, we analyze where things are and what is real. The value of things naturally emerges. The more difficult it is for an object to appear, the more complex the process, the longer the demand for its appearance, and the longer it exists in a real form, the higher its value as a thing itself. Here, we avoid the influence of culture, although in reality we cannot completely avoid culture, but in the space of meaning woven by words, we can pretend to do this. When it comes to weighing values in terms of objects, gold is more precious than the artist's paintings. After leaving the special existence of culture, the essence of a famous painting is nothing more than paint on paper.

The real things around you and me, because of their form, can be sorted, and must be discovered or created, must be unique coordinates registered in the whole of real time and space, so that the scarcity of their appearance is not determined by the will of anyone. The total amount of oil on earth is fixed and does not directly increase or decrease because of the wishes of any thinker.

There is nothing in the game

However, such a reality cannot exist in the game. It is true that when we play the game, we will see a lot of game props, and these props are also intimately marked with color to indicate their rarity, such as: red represents super rare, orange represents ultra-rare, yellow represents very rare, purple represents rare, blue represents relatively rare, green represents some rarity, and white represents not rare.

Whether it is a computer or a mobile phone game, these props that look gorgeous or look gorgeous, or bull forks and booms, do not have a real real shape, nor do they have real space-time coordinates, and their existence or non-existence lies entirely in the code regulation of the programmers behind the game. All game props are essentially different permutations and combinations of 0 and 1, which is very different from the real thing. We can crudely understand that the props in this kind of game are just a skin, a false thing cloaked in culture. This kind of fake thing seems to have the same characteristics as the actual thing, but in the final analysis, it is designed by the program code, rather than the space-time positioning under the laws of nature.

No matter how good the artifact in the game is, its essence is still a combination of data without any carrier, and its bottom layer is still 0 and 1. After we purchased this weapon, we didn't get an object, but rather enough game data to greatly improve the gaming experience. Therefore, we sighed that things are scarce and expensive, and felt that such money was worth it. But if we think about it carefully, we will find that there is a deep shadow of the will in it. Why is it rare and expensive in the game, because it is data that the programmer deliberately regulates. In the game, people who have mastered the coding technology can copy a large number of artifacts at any time. Or, people with coding technology can fabricate ordinary props that transcend artifacts in the process and subvert the game experience. This is what we generally mean, "open and hang".

Rare props in the game are essentially not rare. The main person in charge of the game company behind it makes it rare, and it becomes rare. But this is not "things are scarce and expensive", because they are not real things at all. It is the capital desire of "which thing is stronger, which I cut, and if I want to have fun, I will be paid".
