Today (March 17), the well-known game publisher 2K posted on social platforms, announcing that the PlayStation version of its game "Borderlands 3" will support cross-platform online functionality. Last year, 2K officials said that due to Sony's requirements, the cross-platform online function of Borderlands 3 will not support PS hosting. But judging from today's official statement, Sony has clearly changed its strategy.
Officials said that the cross-platform online function of the PS platform will be implemented in future updates, but did not explain why Sony originally blocked the cross-platform online function of the game PS version, and made any response to the changes that have occurred now.
According to foreign media VGC, Sony's changes are not unrelated to the upcoming "Borderlands" series of spin-off games "Tina's Fantasy Lands", because the latter supports cross-platform online functions.
