Artist Profile

Jiang Weimin, a famous teacher of high-end art education in China, is a scholar-type painter. He graduated from the Department of Chinese and Fine Arts of Zhejiang Normal University, majored in character painting creation at the Graduate School of the China Academy of Arts, and studied character painting (doctoral) at the National Academy of Painting of China. He is currently a member of the Central Cultural Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association, the deputy director of the Art Committee of the Central Academy of Painting of the China National Construction Association, the vice president of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Painting of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the honorary president of the Chinese National Calligraphy and Painting Institute of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the judge of the National First-class Artist Review Panel of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and a visiting professor of Chinese painting at Peking University. He once served as the president of the China National Classic Painting Academy, the president of the China Hanmoyuan Calligraphy and Painting Academy, the president of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Painting, the president of the People's Liberation Army Painting Academy, and the executive tutor of the Rongbaozhai Painting Academy's Character Painting Advanced Study Class (The Chairman's Studio of the China Artists Association). Poetry, lyrics, music and paintings have won national gold medals. In 2012, he was rated as the 30 figure painters with the most academic value and market potential in contemporary times, and from 2011 to 2014, he was selected as one of the 50 representative painters of the two countries by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles for four consecutive years, and was selected by the Ministry of Culture as one of the 10 representative painters of each country in the "Cultural Exchange Painting Exhibition on the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and France".
