Inside the Earth are two megastructures
Inside the Earth, where the mantle is located, scientists did find 2 giant structures that looked like two giant spots, distributed in different places:
One megastructure is hidden beneath Africa, extending about 1600 to 1800 kilometers upward from the core and mantle borders; the other is hidden beneath the Pacific Ocean, extending about 700 to 800 kilometers upwards! Moreover, the giant structure below Africa is significantly closer to the surface than the giant structure below the Pacific Ocean, and the spot closer to the surface is very unstable.
The scientists involved in the study believe that this giant structure hidden under the ground in Africa is likely to be one of the causes of earthquakes, supervolcano eruptions, and even dramatic changes in surface structure. This corresponds to the multiple supervolcano eruptions on the African continent over the past few hundred million years, and the lifting of the earth's crust under the African subsurface.
Moreover, previous studies have also shown that focusing time on the past 320 million years, about 80% of the giant mantle eruptions that have occurred have indeed occurred on the border of this giant "spotted" structure below Africa.
Although the thickness of the mantle is 2900 kilometers, the giant spots below Africa are not so high, but they are already very close to the surface, coupled with the instability of the structure itself, it is indeed inevitable to affect the surface, not to mention earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, even if the disintegration of the continent is not impossible.
Why do scientists feel uneasy?
In fact, these two giant "spotted" structures were first proposed as early as the 1980s, the so-called LLSVP. However, scientists were not sure why such a megastructure existed, but speculated that the reason for its formation may be two situations, one is the crust accumulation, and the other is the remnants of the magma ocean.
Previously, scientists only knew that there were differences between the two giant structures, but they did not know that the giant spots under the Pacific Ocean would be 1,000 kilometers shorter than the spots under the African underground. That is to say, the two "spotted" giant material structures hidden underground are not only floating in the underground world like "two continents", but the point is that the height of these two structures can reach 100 times that of Mount Everest! As for the cause of the formation of these two spots, the new research suggests that it is likely to be the residual material left over from the formation of the Earth more than four billion years ago.
Scientists are certainly uneasy because they suspect that past mass extinction events are likely related to these two megastructures underground, especially the largest mass extinction event, the Permian-Triassic extinction event. About 251.4 million years ago, 96 percent of marine life and 70 percent of terrestrial vertebrates disappeared en mass, perhaps because underground magma masses floated up to the surface and caused supervolcano eruptions, triggering a cascade of climate change and species extinction.
Of course, this is all the speculation of scientists, after all, the earth has been formed for billions of years, but the evolutionary history of mankind can only be traced back millions of years, and none of the five known mass extinction events have been experienced by us. Therefore, including the Permian-Triassic extinction event, human beings have not yet figured out the exact reason for the disappearance of a large number of species from the earth, but only speculate on the cause of the event based on the existing research results.
Human beings have never successfully dug through the earth, how do they know the internal structure of the earth and determine that there is no "geocentric civilization"?
First of all, human beings have not thought of personally digging through the earth, scientists in the former Soviet Union did this, and the deepest one of the holes was 12262 meters deep underground, which was named Kola Ultra-Deep Well. However, you may be difficult to imagine that this more than 10,000-meter drill hole, although it is not manpower to dig down, there are special drill bits, but this drilling period is as long as more than ten years, and there are several times in the middle.
The Kola ultra-deep well is located on the Kola Peninsula, the opening has long been covered with a metal cap, and the deep well that was dug at great expense has been abandoned, and even the numbers marked on it are wrong. As for why it was not dug down, in addition to the official funding problem, of course, it is too difficult to continue to drill down, otherwise it will not be so abandoned, and there are not too many research results to get their hands on.
Mankind understands the structure of the Earth's interior thanks to two seismologists, Mohorovich of the former Yugoslavia and Gutenberg of Germany. They discovered in 1910 and 1914:
Seismic waves refract 50 km underground and 2900 km underground, which means that there are two different material interfaces in the Earth's interior, namely the "Moho surface" and the "Gutenberg surface".
At this point, the internal structure of the earth is divided into three circles from these two sub-interfaces: the core, the mantle and the earth's crust.
In addition, there can be no "geocentric civilization" underground, which is also determined by the composition of the earth's internal material composition;
Although the average thickness of the core is 3400 kilometers, the material inside the core is either a liquid high-temperature substance that flows or a solid substance composed of metal elements such as iron and nickel. Imagine how an underground space with a temperature of more than 5,000 degrees Celsius and a pressure of more than 132 million kPa could possibly survive, let alone create a geocentric civilization.
