Recently, market research agency Counterpoint announced the world's 10 best-selling smartphones in 2021, which are from Apple, Xiaomi and Samsung, accounting for 19% of global smartphone sales in 2021.
From the list, Apple is undoubtedly the biggest winner, 7 of the 10 mobile phones have iPhones, and the top 5 are all wrapped up by Apple. The best-selling model is the iPhone 12, followed by the iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 11. Counterpoint notes that the first 3 iPhones contributed 41% of Apple's sales in 2021.
The three mobile phones shortlisted in the Android camp are all inexpensive entry-level machines, of which the Samsung Galaxy A12 ranks sixth, and this entry-level machine is mainly for North America, Latin America and Western Europe markets. Xiaomi Group's Redmi 9A and Redmi 9 ranked seventh and tenth respectively. The two 100-yuan machines are mainly launched in China, India and the Asia-Pacific region, and are among the top ten with their low price. According to Counterpoint, the two models together account for 22% of the total sales of the Xiaomi brand.
