The integration of Sands and Sanxingdui cultural elements into this catwalk event is also quite meaningful. It is reported that the Sands Performing Arts Center project is a landmark building near the Jinsha ruins, and a large number of Jinsha cultural elements have been integrated into the design and construction process. It is reported that the Sands Performing Arts Complex project, with a total construction area of 67,000 square meters, officially started construction on June 30, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed and accepted on June 29, 2023. The project is mainly composed of two parts: a comprehensive theater and a cultural activity center, with a Grade A theater that can accommodate 1200 people, a cinema that can accommodate 800 people, and a high-altitude acrobatic hall, a rehearsal hall, a book bar café in the air, a city observation deck, an outdoor performance venue, etc., to undertake cultural entertainment, art education, sports and fitness and other functions.
The exterior design of the project extracts architectural inspiration from the Jinsha ruins culture, fully draws on the advanced concepts at home and abroad, integrates the romantic form of jinsha ancient cultural relics and the cultural elements of jinsha ruins into the appearance design through abstract expression, which is another landmark masterpiece in jinsha ruins area. The flowing lines of the metal plate form a virtual contrast with the glass, metaphorically "golden culture" and "jade culture", expressing the good wishes of "golden jade and auspicious", and in the urban spatial scale, it is connected with cultural resources such as Jinsha ruins to form a continuous ancient Shu cultural context.
Many elements rich in artistic atmosphere have derived the strange shape of the project, as well as the universal large-span, large-space design. In particular, the "urban canopy" between the two monomers is the most complex and peculiar, its skeleton is a special-shaped steel mesh shell structure, and the surface layer includes an upright lock metal roof and a fish scale composite aluminum panel curtain wall, all of which are designed using NURBS curved algorithm.
After the completion of the project, it will become a harmonious coexistence of architecture and landscape, culture and commerce, form and function, innovation and quality, creating a unique urban memory, which is of great significance to make up for the shortcomings of large-scale cultural facilities in the city, improve the layout of urban functions, and improve the quality of the city.
