The design scheme of Chongqing University's "Light of Wisdom" steel structure library is committed to creating a university library building with unique shape, complete functions, rich space, green intelligence and advanced technology.

The site of our team's plan is located in a university in Chongqing, and the plan responds to the campus environment, with a simple and atmospheric shape, and through the treatment techniques such as overhead passage on the ground floor, large entrance steps, and roof ecological platform, the building and the external space environment are interpenetrated and become a landmark building on campus. At the same time, the architectural design strives to build the building into a high-performance green building, and in the site design, the use of automatic rotating sunshade, green roof, permeable brick pavement, etc., to strengthen the collection and utilization of various natural resources, to achieve a green and low-carbon building recycling strategy.

The structural design aims to reflect the structural characteristics of large cantilever, large span and large space and the construction requirements of assembly. The structure as a whole consists of a ground frame, a suspended floor, a truss on the middle floor and a truss on the top floor, with a total area of about 20,000 square meters. The maximum floor height of the structure is 6m, the maximum span is 25m, and the maximum cantilevership is 8.4m. The design adopts concrete-filled steel tubular support columns, concrete-filled steel tubular bifurcated columns, steel trusses, suspension structures, etc., with a total steel consumption of about 1,300 tons and a unit steel consumption of about 60kg/m2.

The orthogonal truss in the middle layer of the structure is combined with the suspension system to construct a plurality of column-free hollow spaces, with a maximum hollow space of 25 m × 25 m, and the concrete-filled steel tube forms four huge support frames in the plane, making full use of the respective advantages of the composite material and the hot-rolled section steel.
