The name of the shop is inspired by the "sheds" that can be found everywhere in the coffee producing areas, and the structure is very simple with pillars supporting the roof, under which the farmers chat, rest, and eat, and relieve the fatigue of farm work. In the city, we also want to build such a "greenhouse" so that busy people can rest, gather and communicate happily.

THE VENUE IS LOCATED IN BUILDING 3 OF COLUMBIA CIRCLE. THE SITE WAS A COLUMBIAN COUNTRY CLUB FOR WESTERNERS TO RELAX DURING THE CONCESSION ERA, AND WAS REOPENED IN 2018 WITH THE "COLUMBIA CIRCLE" RENOVATED BY OMA.

coffea SHED is a coffee agribusiness retail space. Open to public squares and communities, it becomes a daily gathering place for residents. Coffee is sold here, as well as agricultural and sideline products, as well as daily necessities.

We believe that a platform that connects urban consumers and producers should be in a spacious, open space under such a greenhouse. The spacious "under the greenhouse" design uses profiled metal sheets, a material that is often used in the construction of warehouses and other materials in agricultural production.

The panels are easy to process and can be combined with lighting and firefighting equipment such as sprinklers. Fluorescent tubes are placed in the recessed part of the profiled metal sheet, and track spotlights are installed on the beams between the sheets. This ceiling lighting design can be adapted to the flexible layout of the space.

In addition, the boundary between the interior and the exterior was eliminated as much as possible by extending the granite tiles used in the outdoor plaza in front of the store into the interior of the space.

There is a small backyard between the site and the apartment building at the back, which was originally unused. We wanted to connect the open space in front of the plaza with the backyard through the elements of the "greenhouse".

The interior can also be opened to the backyard, where the bright sunlight and the vitality of the plants enter the room, allowing people to spend a comfortable time under the greenhouse.

The former building faces the fountain square with an enclosed façade. We extend the plaza and landscape indoors through a "greenhouse" that extends outward, and we want people to be able to gather freely under this greenhouse from all directions.
