In addition, according to the technology patent previously published by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple also obtained a patent involving "the hidden input area of electronic devices". Apple says the patent is meant to eliminate "large buttons, buttons or other mechanical structures" used to sense device input. This is because conventional input elements "may lack flexibility or adaptability and may permanently indicate the presence of an input device."

It is worth noting that on March 7, according to Reuters, analysts said that Apple may announce a low-cost version of the iPhone SE with 5G capabilities at the annual spring product launch conference on Tuesday local time. Apple is also expected to launch a new version of the iPad Air and high-end Mac Mini at this event.

Apple's iPhone SE is currently priced at $399, and CFRA Research analyst Angelo Zino said that if the price of the new version remains unchanged, Apple may attract more price-sensitive consumers. The new phone will be the first update to the iPhone SE model in two years and will be rumored to come with an improved camera and a faster processor. IDC analyst Ryan Reith said the U.S., Japan and Western Europe have been the largest markets for iPhone SE sales in recent years. Reith said it expects these regions to remain major markets after the launch of the third-generation iPhone SE.
